A lot of people get hung up on the 'Mid level LC vs base GX' comparison, but it really depends on how its being used. The Mid level LC (Premium Package) comes with all the offroad and safety tech, Leather, upgraded stereo and cool box, where the same priced Base/Signature GX has none of that, vinyl seats but also seats 7. (Whatever their propriety vinyl brand is called)
Even the comparison with the LC Premium and Overtrail is tough, as each gets things the other doesnt. (No doubt by design) Same goes when you add in the Overtrail+. There are some features like the cool box that are only in the LC Premium and OverTrail+. It will be interesting to see how many Overtrails get sold compared to the other models..
It’s also worth noting that the packages in the US don’t really mirror the Canadian trims at all. So until we see the full list of LC features we are pissing in the wind arguing about this.
For example, there is not a single option box to check on the OT+ and Executive trims here. In the states you can check another $3500USD of options in the OT+ to match what’s on the Canadian trims.
Apples and Oranges for now.

Vehicle pricing is absolutely ridiculous today. These prices have been the best thing to ever happen to me as for the first time in my adult life I'm totally fine sitting out and holding off on new car purchases. I'm simply not comfortable paying today's pricing for non-special vehicles. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Full list of packages and trims for LC in Canada was posted already..(Got the breakdown from the dealer in December) and now on the Toyota Canada website. Its basically 1958, regular, premium or first edition. Worth noting, the next model up keeps the same items as the one before plus adds on the new list. First Edition has some premium options removed though. No other substantial options. I added the prices that were leaked below:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Based on the last few pages I expect OT+ GX will be the goto for most (so long as they don’t need third row.

I actually think the OverTrail models will be the least sold... the amount of people not actually looking at what in included in each package vs just blanket price shopping. Who knows with the Overland thing being so popular though..
Do you think someone would actually spend ~100k on a vehicle and not compare packages/options?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The comment was more geared towards comparing $XZ priced GX to $XY priced LC. Even though prices are within 3-5k, the actual options are vastly different. LandCruiser Premium comes with all Offroad tech/mechanicals, leather, safety tech, upgraded stereo etc, while the base GX doesnt have any of it.
But because the prices are similar, the vehicles are compared.

I feel the opposite. Lots of overtrails to be sold.
I feel like the kind of people not interested in the overtrail aspects of the vehicle, are the kind of people who will gravitate to the highlander or TX.

I believe one of the reviewer said if people expect the calmer drive like GLE/X5 or really need 7 seats to stay away from this. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Would you happen to know what 'Multi-Terrain Select' accomplishes? Other than speakers and a bigger screen, MTS is makes the 'Land Cruiser' trim worthwhile. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The 1958 trim seems to be well packaged as an entry-level version. Fuck moonroof
Depends how valuable you think having a knob to tell the car what kind of terrain you are driving on is.

Toyota Multi-Terrain Select is a feature found on select Toyota trucks and SUVs that regulates wheelspin by automatically adjusting the engine throttle and traction control. Combined with other off-road features like Crawl Control (CRAWL), it helps drivers tackle challenging road conditions with confidence.
This innovative feature can help you conquer five of the most common off-road surfaces:
Rock
Rock & Dirt
Mogul
Loose Rock
Mud & Sand
The mts monitor is the surround cameras that are used for offroading, Front/side/rear views.
