895lb payload for the top Trailhunter trim is.... not a lot for an SUV that size. That's CRV numbers.

.. 900 lbs of payload in something without a bed, carries a battery and is already carrying a pile of upgrades. That is plenty. Still has 6k towing

I mean, throw 4 average people in the vehicle and you're down to what, 200lb capacity? You'd top your GVWR just by going camping, or to Costco.

For comparison's sake, that's 300lb less than a hybrid Grand Cherokee Trailhawk which is a notably smaller vehicle and also comes with all the offroad goodies and skid plates. (and also tows 6K)

Not saying it's unlivable, just seems low for that class of vehicle and for a 4Runner in general.

That's a marked decrease from the previous gen 4R which was 1,600.

I wouldn’t get hung up on that number until you see it stamped on the truck.

Payload can vary widely between trims and that’s probably the lowest one.

Basically in line with a jeep.

It's on the door tag shown in the Trailhunter reveal video. 3:51.

Worth noting for the Trailhunter.. it is also hybrid so has the full battery packs, plus skid plate, rock sliders etc. (If the GX is 1400, the battery packs more than make up the difference)
Should be higher if you are actually using it for Overlanding though..

And.. here are the prices for the Tacoma i-Force MAX engines. Of course, Toyota Canada put the Trailhunter higher in price than the Pro but lower than the Pro in the US; but 86k for a Trailhunter? No f'ing way. lol. I feel they just inflated the price as it's going to be more popular here than the Pro.

Model Bed size Starting MSRP Estimated Vehicle Price*
    Limited 5-ft $63,390 $67,021
    TRD Off Road Premium 5-ft $64,850 $68,481
    TRD Pro 5-ft $76,990 $80,621
    Trailhunter 6-ft $82,950 $86,581

Is there any desirable Toyota that isn't supply constrained? Enjoy your dealer markups.

Actually, they have a lot of supplies of Tundras lately and they are on sale/on incentives now. It's just a matter of time. All-new vehicles' first year anyway is always the hype.

Can't remember where I saw it now but someone posted their receipt of a First Edition from Ontario. With GST/HST and whatever other fees, it was almost $105K OTD

    Found it

That is crazy! A little bit more, that could've been a GX Overtrail.
