Seafood boil is so fucking overrated. It all tastes like overcooked and flavor fatigue is real.

A little outside of the box maybe…

However the wife and I had major success serving meatloaf.

It’s the best meatloaf we’ve ever had, and served. But know your audience as it’s meat on meat.

Serve with mashed potatoes (fancy cream style), a great gravy, greek salad, a fresh tear apart bread and you’re golden.

This is a tough one because it’s the audience.

We made baked sliders one time for a party and people absolutely fell over each other for them. Roast beef, sharp cheddar, horseradish mayo for one batch, and cranberry cream cheese turkey with pistachio for the other batch. Fresh Costco tray Buns a must here. Brush with butter too and bottom.

    Edit: Meatloaf recipe

Wait till the jackals tell you how to spell the word "past".

No pic, but on the weekend I was served some excellent roasted brussels spouts. I think the procedure was this:
    - halve them, toss in olive oil, roast 450 until surface is crispy, toss in some bacon, walnuts, balsamic and maple syrup. Serve asap before the dressing sogs up the crispiness.

Brussels sprouts are so unloved, that if you serve them and people like them, you kinda get double points.

The bitterness you used to get from them have been bred out, so that's why they are so good now. People are expecting the bitterness from 20+ years ago, and it doesn't exist! GMO FTW

That was the missus but the camera is exaggerating the doneness on that photo. Still, yes - it was beyond prime.

Grammar police says - it’s a difficult word for a lot of people. But In his context, you’re right.

I debated, but didn't look it up. It's not a direct reference to time, so I felt that since the meat moved passed the physical state of rare that passed was the correct word.

You could use either in a sentence conveying the meaning you wanted. But, only one is correct in each form.

This meat has passed the state of rare.
This meat has been taken past the state of rare.
This meat is cooked past rare.
I passed this meat to your dad, before I fucked him.

Mr Slow is correct, and you are not. And "moved passed" ~= "moved moved". It moved past, or it passed.

I'm disappointed that I haven't been invited to these fancy dinners, but on the other hand I had cold KFC fries and pizza pops for supper last night, and probably even that is too good for me. I rarely have two-course meals.

Edit: I should have made passeda. <-- clever quip, probably over everyone's head

When we have family in from out of town, I like to do rack(s) of lamb (costco). its not that tough to pull off, and its impressive to everyone who doesnt have it very often.

Good Call, Rack of Lamb is visually impressive AND an uncommon treat for most people. I love lamb.
