Poke bowls is really easy to do as a group and you can semi-prep most of it ahead of time. Choice of toppings can give a nice impression plus you can laugh at the people that can't use chopsticks.
Otherwise for brunch I also enjoy making brunch bowls I copied from Name. Truffled mushrooms, bacon, and poached eggs over a tator tot base. Then add some hollandaise sauce and a tiny bit of parmesan cheese.

Braised short ribs w/ gravy, garlic mash potatoes, fried string onions and a vegetable side.
Easy and not a lot of ingredients. Short ribs and possibly mash potatoes can be cooked the day before (Short ribs apparently tastes better)
Very hearty, savoury and makes you look like a A+ Chef haha!
Nah, we just use City Fish and get stuff that's already been flash frozen and is safe to go. Just freezing fish in your regular freezer isn't sufficient if it has parasites. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Hire a chef to come in and prepare everything for you and your guests.
That way you can enjoy your company and not worry about dinner at all.
which chef do you recommend and costs? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The kind of people that watch the View and go "uh huh..." Those unfulfilled people who try to fill the void in their empty lives by writing whiny letters to the editor complaining about shit that no one really cares about?
Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

Impressing someone by hiring a chef and impressing someone by cooking something impressive are very different vibes. Guess which one sounds better is a matter of personal opinion or taste.

On a serious note how about a big sea food boil type setup. Had a friend do an amazing ceviche, with many other sea food options spread out on the table for everyone to grab. It was awesome. Scallops, lobster, squid etc etc.
