Ford CEO calls out the world. Claims under 7 seconds at the ‘Ring.
From Autoblog:
“This is our company, we’re throwing down the gauntlet and saying, ‘Come and get it,’” Jim Farley, Ford CEO, says. “We’re comfortable putting everybody else on notice. I’ll take track time in a Mustang GTD against any other auto boss in their best road car.”
Jim Farley challenging other bosses. Musk v Zuck is wearing on lesser elites.

"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."
I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but I don't mind the looks of that. Maybe a bit overboard with the scallops but we're still far from Veneno territory. Not bad.
But the gap is that big. Bang for buck, the Camaro is probably better, sure. But this is a full on race car. It has pushrod suspension and a carbon body. There is no reasonable grounds to compare this to a ZL1; this thing is about as much of a mustang as the Ford GT is.

I know this car has been pitched as mid-engine, but it looks to me from the picture posted in this thread that the engine is still in front of the driver's feet. Having a blue oval on the front is about the only similarity between it and a GT.
It'll be faster than a ZL1 1LE around the 'Ring, and slower across the stage at Barrett-Jackson. I'll give it that.
Limited production cars are kind of boring to me. make something batshit crazy and sell a few thousand, or tens of thousand, now that tightens my jeans.
Unless you're a die hard Ford guy I just can't understand the desire to try and nab one of these over say a ZR1 since they're both due in 2025. And considering the vette will probably be half the price.
