FS: 1989 Mercedes 260e W124 *SOLD*
So I came across a project that I couldn't ignore, so this has gotta go. Alot of you have seen the progress on the car in another thread but ill throw all the info.
This car was a European delivery when new, so it has the only euro color Surf Blau, which from my understanding, is the only one of its kind out here.
4 speed auto with m103 engine at approximately 360k on it. If you know these cars, properly maintained they will last forever, this one is no exception.
When I bought it it wouldn't fire. I replaced the cam shaft seal, cap/rotor, plugs, both fuel pumps, the fuel filter, flushed the lines and replaced a fuel line. This thing runs like a dream and drives like it, it is just as quiet or quieter than my 2018 X5, it's unreal.
There was really bad rust on the fenders, so that was professionally repaired and repainted. This 34 year old isn't perfect and still has a few small rust spots, but the interior is in amazing shape.
The previous owner(friend of mine) and myself have put a ton of time and money into this car and I don't want to get rid of it, but now I have 6 cars and it's either this or my 63 merc, so....
The good:
Vogtland springs
- OEM 17" monobocks, they're in great shape, but there was an issue with some fluid that fucked up the powdercoat
- Kenwood stereo
-PG amp and Pioneer sub
- 90-93 trunk panel retrofit
- OEM w124 94-95 tail lights
- OEM Hella euro silver headlights + dark amber corner lights (Expensive but waaaaaay better than DOT shit) + got city lights working
- Euro vacuum headlight leveling retroit, sourced from ebay.de (was very hard to do but kinda cool)
- Ceramic window tint 50% front 20% rear
- Lots of maintenance OEM style aluminum Rad, New alternator, Timing cover seals etc
-almost new winter tires on OEM wheels
The bad:
Still some rust and clear coat peel for a 34 year old car
Fender mouldings need clips
Haven't cleaned the inside of the car will do this on saturday
It's far from perfect but it's still awesome.
