It’s a big day in the killy household.

Sounds like my wife just got the call that we can go back to daycare now.

Did she get the call from AHS or from the daycare? We got the recind letters from AHS on tuesday but they didn't tells our daycare our kids were good until end of day Wednesday meaning we couldnt take them back until thursday. The fact that we needed to be on some lame ass list plus the recind letter is the silliest shit ever.

I didn't watch our fearless leader's press conference but the Calgary Herald article made it seem like the $2000 Smith bucks was for kids who were sick as opposed to anyone impacted. Our daycare is prorating the entire month of september for us which helps for our second kid, but our first is in Kindergarten starting in a week so maybe they will just apply both to my second.

The press conference was pretty painful, mainly because the media morons who kept asking the same irrelevant politically motivated questions that really had nothing to do with anything. It was actually pretty pathetic.

The statement notes some of the children who have tested positive at the added centres are connected to daycares from the original outbreak.
The new facilities are Active Start Country Hills, the Scenic Acres location of CanCare Childcare, CEFA Early Learning Childcare North, MTC Daycare, Renert Junior Kindergarten and Calgary JCC Child Care.

"To all the parents involved in this terrible situation, we hear you and understand what you are going through," the statement reads. "However, it is crucial for parents who have children who attend these daycares follow the guidance being given to them by health care professionals. If your daycare is closed, please respect why this is done and keep your children at home. Only send your child to another facility if they have tested negative for E. coli and have no symptoms."

The statement asks all daycare operators in the Calgary region to confirm the health and daycare history of children who are new to their facility.

Thank God I don't and I didn't send my kids to daycare. Both my wife and I work from home and also my mother in law who's retired always looked after both my boys. One thing which you can't avoid is when they catch something in school.

Our daycare was shut down again but everyone found out about it through the media. The MOH or AHS didn't reach out to the facility at all. Our director had to call their health inspector who confirmed it based on that Adriana Lagrange's tweet. What a shit show

What a shit show. I don't have kids, but it doesn't take much to imagine the level of anger it would generate if I had a child that was affected and ended up in the hospital, after reading the EHS report. My fiancé after bartending at a popular place up North in Ft Mac for a year ended up managing it and the restaurant/pub side of things for a year as well. It was kept spotless, even with the difficulty in finding staff back during the oil $$$ boom times in the mid/later 2000s, from 2006 to 2010 back then. How can anyone be SO incompetent to allow the conditions in that report, especially when it's servicing the food specifically for children, young children at that.
