It bothers me that there is an active militant group that is loyal to a separatist cause in a foreign country, with their activities funded by gang crime in Canada.

Not excusing what India did but I'm sure most Sikhs who are law-abiding and loyal to Canada are also tired of their bullshit.
Maybe the Chinese running BC are taking advantage of Canada to cause issues in India, too!

If a war between China and India plays out on Canadian soil, look out. Obviously, called Surrey - Richmond War

India has stopped issuing visas to Canadian citizens amid an escalating row over the killing of a Sikh separatist on Canadian soil. India said the temporary move was due to "security threats" disrupting work at its missions in Canada.

When will Canada stop issuing visas to Indians?

    Oh right.

Another well thought plan by the LPC.

If you are going to get in a dick measuring contest, maybe find yourself a ruler and a quiet room where you can measure your own privately. Could help understand your best strategy.

It's a huge PITA for us, and a minor PITA for me (I have a 10 year Visa that at times becomes invalid between Canada-India fights). This is the 2nd time it's happened recently, we missed a work trip last year because India was retaliating against Canada blocking India visas due to India's shitty handling of COVID and blocked existing and new visa entries, so OCI people only allowed into India. So yea it's happened before haha.

Trudeu is doing the classic divide and conquer routine. This is terrible for Canada. I just don't understand the strategy behind this (well I kinda do, but I don't want to contimplate on it as its too dark).
This should have been dealt with behind closed doors. The implications of this are huge. Jagmeet Singh, I don't know the words to describe this. What a fool and he played right into it.
This is going to get Sikhs fighting amongst themselves and with other Indians. Echos of partition.
The worst part of this is that there are people who may have sick relatives or parents and need to travel. How is this going to work out for them...?

I envision Canada to be the diplomat and peace maker between nations. Right now it is like the adolescent man child that picks quarrels with people and does not understand the long term implications of this.

JT has scored a grand slam.
This is some serious stuff. FT is reporting that US and others have raised this with NM during G20.

I'm sure India is "very sorry" about murdering someone on Canadian soil and that "their thoughts and prayers" are with all those involved. so much so that in the future, should they need to murder someone on canadian soil again, they will do so with the upmost discretion and secrecy.

tldr: turdo is a f'n moron and moral righteousness doesn't mean shit in the real world where might=right

aka stfu turdo and stop writing cheques your ass cant cash

Is India sorry though? Even pretend sorry?

I think India is really clear where they stand on this lol

Air India bombing trials ended what - 10 years ago?
For a terrorist event from 1985!? Just a cool 28 years to wrap that up.

I dislike Trudeau as much as the next guy, but if this is true it’s pretty fucked up. Would people prefer our PM (as shitty as he is for us domestically) just turn a blind eye when there are credible allegations like this? Makes you wonder what Harper or Poilevre would have done if they were PM.

That said, there’s probably so much more to this story. Hard to believe a pro-separation plumber would be targeted so heavily by Indian gov.

Its like the Jamil khashoggi thing all over again, except allegedly he was an actual Canadian citizen and not just a Green Card like khashoggi was

I just think people are naive if they don't think that major powers will target people domestically and abroad when they feel its warranted, and that "thoughts and prayers" etc really don't mean fuck all when push comes to shove. So crying to the world court of popular opinion is useless. I'm not saying turn a blind eye, but be realistic what your influence and abilities are. Canada keeps moping around about how morally superior we are but guess what, nobody gives a shit. china is burning coal like nobody's business while we crater our domestic economy in the name of climate crisis.

tldr: if you don't want people fucking around in your backyard then you need a big enough stick to deter them.
