This streak must end tonight lol
Half the dome gonna be blue and orange
Also for a hand pass I want a rule change to distinct hand passing motion

I'm so torn. Flames need to get lower in the standings, but I also want them to smash the oilers.
Darth Vader imperial march plays. (hopefully).

I’d love the win streak to continue, but the battle between these two teams always seems to be a coin toss. Could be 1-0 win from either team or 9-2 win with 95 minutes in penalties. Only these two options.
If it's 9-2 that's an oilers win for sure. So based on that analysis, it's a 75‰ oilers win probability

No point getting lower in the standings. You're not picking top 6 either way. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
well, there's "nearly" zero chance of making the playoffs at this point. We need to jump over 3 teams just to make the last wildcard spot, which would have us facing a team we'd be luck to get 1 win against. No fucking thanks.

According to Moneypuck, there's still over an 11% chance. But yeah - it's always hard to squeeze into that last spot as you're always playing an excellent team. I think the only times it's likely to actually turn out well is if it's like what St. Louis did a few seasons ago where they sucked and were last in the league to start January, but then figured it out and went on a tear of 30-10-5 to end the season.
I don't see the Flames accomplishing that.
11 Percent, or 1 chance in 10. Gross.
I agree with the above that we aren't likely to get top five pick, but also, don't see the point in doing anything other than shedding expiring contracts to gather younger players OR draft picks.

They need to play consistent UNBELIEVABLE hockey lol
Okay good luck haha

Even with several of the players playing "pretty good" hockey, we aren't a serious threat to any good team that's awake.

Rather irrelevant as I know players don't always stick to their career position but I find it remarkable that the Flames forwards consist of 10 centers, 2 left wingers and 2 right wingers. The only right wingers Coronato & Klapka having a combined 13 GP and 2 points.
Flames didn't draft enough. This is what happens. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Tre was a bad GM. Like real bad.
On the 22nd, I said we needed to leapfrog 3 teams. We'll today, the 25th, we need to leapfrog essentially 5 teams, since we are tied with Minnie.
Gtfo, playoffs are a dead concept.

Typical Flames fashion they will go on a heater and finish just out of a wild card spot. However, one could hope they actually tank and get a decent pick for once. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think it's less about getting a top puck now, and more about shedding expiring guys to become new assets.

If the Flames trade any combination of Lindholm/Tanev/Hannifin they will plummet in the standings. Get er' done Conny.
Im torn on trading Hannifin. I don't like him as a player, but I can't deny that when he is on he is on. For a partial rebuild that the Flames would likely do it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep him, Rasmus and Weegar on the back end then fill in the other half with young guns. We are never going full tits up start from scratch so a happy medium, in my eyes, is having a strong D-core, a few vets on the front end to teach the kids how to be pros, then mid level goaltending with potential. However, thats just like... my opinion man.

Nobody can really do a full rebuild in the NHL because of the salary floor. So you have to have some expensive contracts always hanging around. Hanifin is 24, he's perfectly fine to keep and will make great trade bait any time in the future.
Yea totally... he eats a pile of minutes but he's just kinda meh... has a muffin for a shot (although much improved this year it seems), isn't overly physical, isn't great on the PP... just kinda meh, but plays a ton. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If they trade Hannifin and Tanev the Flames are an instant lottery team IMO.
