    Default Attached and detached garage

I’ve been lurking on the forum for some time and followed along some members’ build. I’m a car enthusiast and have run out of car space where I can’t balance the hobby with other life needs.

We’ve been at current place a few years and I’ve been day dreaming about ideal build that has front/ rear garage combo. I’ve passively looked at this in past but now need and $ are there.

    My options are:
    - buy a house with pie shaped lot with alley access: I’ve seen some buy house falls short
    - acreage: can help achieve all goals but can’t do with young family and DT commute
    - new build on 50x120: has to be one that allows triple front, quad rear with 12-1500sqft house footprint (stays within 45% lot coverage)

I lean towards the third option as it can check all the boxes for home, young fam, hobbies etc

However, I’ve not come across this sized lot with front and rear garage as I believe trying garages are not allowed in most areas if rear alley access is there.

Suggestions or any leads for a lot that can achieve it all?

Triple front and quad rear feels somewhat excessive for a 50x120 lot.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Haha. It’s excessive but can work while within limits of bylaws (45%) and I don’t like mowing grass anyway!

Don't rule out an acreage. My place is like 5 min outside the ring road. If you already live in the burbs, it's not much extra of a commute. Land does cost a good amount more than further out, but if you got the means, don't rule it out. You will spend all this money on all your inner city garages, and then gonna get neighbors complaining that you got too many cars, making too much noise ect ect. Just my opinion.

Why not ball out and build a triple attached front and a rear attached quad?
More living space above the rear garage.

Finding a lot like that has to either be inner city, older house, acreage or a town. I'm lucky where I am in strathmore, there are alot of areas in town that can accommodate an attached and detached.

My father in law has one, his neighbor has one and 3 other neighbors on the same street have one, and now ill have one too.

There is a lot on the same street as my in laws that can accommodate it, however I think they're out to lunch on the lot price, but worth an ask if you're not opposed to strathmore
