Glad to see some Flames fans are being realistic here...as the captain of that team, the chances are pretty damn high that he knew it happened, and that's assuming he wasn't involved himself.

If he really wasn't involved and didn't know anything and this is all just really affecting him that people out there are falsely accusing him of being involved, then I feel sorry for him....but to me, it never looked good from the beginning.

Why is it taking so long for Hockey Canada to release everything? If he really is innocent, the onus is on them to clear his name in public.

Hockey Canada are shitbags who care #1 about protecting Hockey Canada Executives and #4 about protecting players and #99 about upholding the law, or victims rights. Anyone who withheld information about a crime, or helped cover one up, deport to gaza in an airplane full of seawater.

You can't NDA crimes. Not even in Canada.

The reason HC is taking so long is because they're scum.

They need to get ahead of this PDQ otherwise there's a case for them to be part of a conspiracy.

    Meanwhile over at CP:

This really does feel like the year maybe Canada can finally win a cup. 3 teams in the west are all looking strong and not just skirting in as wildcard teams. As much as I dislike the Flames I am still rooting for them to also find a way to make it in.

    Fuck the leafs though.

    Canucks best team in canada.
A huge fan but no homer, I would say that Winnipeg is almost on par. They too have a great goalie, limit quality chances, and can score. Yes, I actually think the Canucks are the best team in the *league*, but primarily looking at their differential.

I'll also mention that Vancouver's shooting percentage will be difficult to sustain. The fact they've kept it so high for so long over halfway through is pretty amazing, but if they managed to carry it through to the playoffs it would be quite astounding. Mind you, they had a historically horrible PK last season, so it seems this is a team of extremes by nature.

Actually, I think this is a rather rare time that the standings are quite reflective of the actual overall team ability. Exceptions being that I feel NY, Washington and the Islanders are probably lucky to be where they are, given that they cannot seem to carry momentum this season.

Holy, Carter Hart has now also left the team for "personal reasons. " Is it coming down soon?

I figured Perry would be dressed to shake off the rust and then be ready for Chicago on Thursday, but apparently that's not in the plan.

I heard Knoblauch was planning to have him in the lineup no earlier than Satuday.

TBH, I'd be reluctant to make any changes while this win streak is going, and I'd sit him until a loss.

Five players from Canada’s 2018 World Juniors team have been directed to report to police in London, Ont., to face charges of sexual assault, The Globe and Mail reported this morning, citing two unnamed sources.

The prospective charges are related to an alleged sexual assault in June 2018 involving players from the 2018 team and a woman identified in court records as E.M.

The Globe reported the players have a set period of time to surrender to police, citing sources. TSN has not been able to corroborate The Globe’s reporting.

A London Police Service spokeswoman declined to comment on the news report.

“We are unable to provide an update at this time,” sergeant Sandasha Bough wrote in an email to TSN. “When there is further information to share regarding this investigation, we will be in contact with media outlets.”

The allegations related to 2018 have sent shockwaves through Canadian sports after TSN reported in May 2022 that a woman referred to in court documents as E.M. had settled a $3.55 million lawsuit against Hockey Canada the Canadian Hockey League and eight unnamed former CHL players.

A parliamentary committee subsequently convened a series of hearings to demand more information from Hockey Canada about both the case and about how Hockey Canada has historically managed sexual assault allegations. As details about the federation’s response to the allegations were made public, sponsors severed ties, and Hockey Canada’s board and top executives were replaced.

Against a backdrop of building public pressure, London police in July reopened their investigation into the case in July of 2022 after initially closing it without laying charges in February 2019.

In December 2022, The Globe and Mail cited court documents that quoted London Police Services sergeant David Younan providing a 94-page summary of the case in which he wrote that five former Team Canada players were believed to have committed criminal offences. Other players were witnesses, Younan wrote, adding that, “Others may or may not become suspects.”

Alex Formenton, playing in Switzerland currently, who was shunned by the Sens has been granted a leave of absence.

Cale Foote & Michael McLeod also granted leave of absence by the Devils as of this morning.

I'm no mathematician but sounds like there's your 5 players.

edit: they were all on that Team Canada roster.

You use Troy for that? I recently got some Flames jerseys framed by him, he did a great job.
