Continuing this thread derail, I found this receipt from the good 'ol days when the cost of lumber was basically free.

Man, I remember in the 90s when you could go into beaver lumber and get 2x4s for $0.99 and if you wanted the crappy grade, they were $0.50

Build a fence for like $50.

Fun completely useless fact: The month you bought that lumber, Jan of 2009, was the lowest the spot price for lumber has been in decades at $150 per 1k board feet. The last time it was less than that was way back in January of 1986.

    Today it's $501 / 1k bf.

    Word, I remember 99c lumber.

I still have cheap lumber up in the rafters of my garage. And I don't build anything, so it's gonna last a long time.

Holy shit, you just unlocked a core memory. I remember going to the Totem with my dad as a kid in the Hat. I completely forgot about the popcorn!

Up until the pandenmic and maybe even later, Rona (even after it changed it's name) in Bowness still had a popcorn maker. When I went about 3 months ago, it was gone.

Mr. Speaker - when will the Prime Minister accept responsibility for the food scarcity that has occurred under his watch?

Got a recommendation for a quartz counter from the Edmonton area? I see this thread is already off the rails so may as well ask here. No need to recommend SpikerS.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.
