Need one of my sideyard fences replaced with a new pressure treated one with two gates, hopefully before the snow flies.
Looking for recommendations on recently completed work.

I remember it being stupid expensive for materials when pricing a job out for someone else.
Post some pics. Although, I'm injured right now, torn calf muscle.
We recently went through this and be warned a lot of the contractors to take on this job right now are stupid busy and probably won't take anything on. We had quotes done last year and wanted it to be done in October and nobody would do it and we had to wait.
For reference this was the cost and breakdown of what we had done for us:
Removal and install new fence
$3,196.00
-removing old fence around 72 lin ft and install new fence match of existing
-supply and install post 4x4x9 brown treated
-supply and install 2by4 x 8ft brown treated
-supply and install 1x6 brown treated fence board
-supply and install bags 25 kg redi-krete
-supply screws brown 1/58" and 2"
-price including all materials necessarily from start to finish, fracht all materials, clean area after work done
-In order to ensure a smooth and efficient process, we kindly request that a 50% deposit be made upon the arrival of the materials required for your project. This deposit will help us cover the costs associated with acquiring and preparing the necessary materials.
-two-year warranty for your purchases. Effective immediately, all services purchased from us will be covered by a comprehensive two-year warranty
Finding someone for a small job is 10x harder than finding someone for a large job, and those are flaky enough.
Also, you don't want a "carpenter", you want a handyman or something. Try community newsletters, kijiji etc.

Yah and that was them coming from Chestermere to Strathmore as well. We had cheaper and way more expensive quotes, but settled with this one because of the warranty and how he was one of the few to actually follow up and be on time. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Does SpikerS still do this kind of work?
Probably not since the beyond jackals went after the last job he did on here lol

He still does and he does still do good work. Can't please everyone. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I saw first hand how bad the work was. He should have never taken that technical of a job on. I'm sure his fences are fine, but he was buying tools and trying to figure it out as he went. Nothing lined up or made sense.
I thought he made a great kid's climbing wall.
Well finishing on millwork is a whole different game than general carpentry but hopefully they managed to resolve things somewhat amicably. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

For 95ft of fence with 6x6 posts I was quoted $14K. $3,196 barely covers the cost of material.
The 1x6 fence board at today's price for 72 lin ft is $900 with taxes. 72 / 8 * 17 * $5.29 *$1.07 = $866

A 6*6 - 12 ft post is $63. Nuts.
I also saw the work in question first hand. It’s definitely not a case of “cant please everyone.” I wouldn’t let him build my fence, but I might trust him to cut the lawn. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
In 2016 when oil shit the bed and I was doing fence it was $36/ft I think lol wow

Whatever the per linear foot cost these days is, time by 2 for small jobs. Legit companies HATE small jobs.
