Another slow update, transmount is done, new tank is in, car fires up… then shuts off. Used hp tuners to try and bypass security, wired the factory ignition and everything, no dice. So, buying more credits and unlocking another ecu is the next step cause who doesn’t want to throw money in the garbage. Headlight retrofit is done and new front buckets are in, mounts and console to come. I went with rx8 seats with the red inlay, match the rear seats and brushed trim throughout and I can essentially host a casting couch episode in the backseat with the amount of space after removing the front couch. Hoping for more exciting updates to come

He came down and played over a few beers, kinda confirming a few things / it’s definitely security related… maybe the ecu is garbage / was in the fritz and won’t accept the tune, so I’ll try one more before dumping my sons college money on a standalone

Did you end up trying an un-cut harness on it?
We built another harness with just the needed to run wires, ecu pretty much right on top of the motor, same result. I may have to bite the bullet and just go stand-alone with a swap harness, but want to rule out the ecu as a dud first. The previous hemi owner said it would shut off randomly on him which is why it was parked, so my fingers are crossed for this being the potato… or it’s just us lol

Well, it’s been a summer. It’s alive and kicking. Did a disc conversion with off the shelf parts and a dual res brake master cylinder from a 96 fuso 3 ton to keep the factory booster. Also, so I don’t die with the single pot and good luck everybody to the left or right drums. Turns out the hemi ecus are known to be shit, so I’m on the hunt for another. And compatibility between years is also a mystery I guess as there’s zero people that know anything, so the research begins. Still a laundry list of little button ups to keep me busy before I hit it with the paint roller when the snow comes

Also, for the ricer in me, had to do the rx8 seats that match the factory rears. The front bench was punched to shit, I’m guessing the previous owner was a farm animal of sorts, so I went the bucket route. Made a lot of gummers in the forward look group cry with my abomination. Made custom side panels for the trunk, por the hell out of it and sound deadened everything, spent wayyyy too long sitting in the trunk cutting the carpet… good thing I’m only 2 feet taller than m.alex. Stereo is all Bluetooth to my phone, no head unit, kinda zippy
