How high are the deductibles and how much did your overall rate come down?
The question you need to ask yourself is are you going to go through insurance for something that costs, say, $2500?
Not on a house claim, I sure wouldn't. They are such a shitshow. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I will keep it in my mind. One of my friends is searching for it and he asked me to help him out. So, I was looking for it online and I am so happy I found your post with the help of a google search. I will surely share it with my friend and I am sure he will be so happy. I always love to help my friend because he also helps me whenever I need him. Last time, he provided https://casinosanalyzer.ca/online-casinos/mastercard website link to me because I was facing financial problems and I want to get rid of them. On that website, I found a lot of sites through which I can easily make money.

I was with TD both home and auto for like forever, 20 years+ no claims either. What I found was that there are absolutely no loyalty when it comes to insurance. I had confirmed that my rates highly dependent on where I live and the risk factor who lives around do affect my premiums. Over the years I ended up paying and would have been paying 2400.00/month for my home and about 2k for my 1 car. So I switched to Allstate, auto was about the same but my home dropped to 1150.00 for a 1812 sqf house attached double garage. When I told TD about the lower rate from All-State, all they could do whats an immediate 5% discount.

Yes there is no loyalty discount, you MUST get other quotes every few years or you WILL be paying too much.

Yea my situation with TD was the same. Ended up saving around half of my total premium for house and auto after moving.
TD not only had relentless rate creep, but really stuck to their guns by bundling a ton of excess coverage into their base premium that made it impossible for them to compete. For me they insisted on offering $5MM of total coverage on my home which was comically high, but their system wouldn’t let them budge saying this was the only bracket they could offer for my postal code.
I’m sure they will bleed enough business eventually to make them reconsider, or maybe there are enough sheep who are happy to take the premium hikes annually that people like me are irrelevant.
Either way not my problem.

Chatting with few guys at work, they are suggesting TD doesn't mess around with insurance claims and fixes vehicles with OEM body panels vs cheaper parts that other insurance companies use. I have no experience with this as my only insurance claim on a vehicle was hail damage and TD just paid me out instead of fixing it. Any experts want to chime in on if TD spends more on repairs with better quality parts or is it all the same? Called in to TD this morning to make a slight change to a vehicle policy and had another semi-frustrating experience. It's time for me to make a change.

I had no issues with TD when my C63 was hit, high quality repair was done at Maranello with oem parts though I did have to fight for that ( they really wanted me to go to a car star they were affiliated with ).
I guess read your policy to determine if they have restrictions on parts usage
Didn’t excuse them for being 2x the premium as the next guy

Yeah my 2009 BMW was also repaired with oem parts at Maranello after it was hit by another TD insured driver too back in 2021. This year my auto policy actually dropped $350/year.

I'm with Pembridge through touchstone, and although touchstone is great to deal with, Pembridge are not. I got a call from Touchstone today to advise me that after adding a new car to my policy, I owe money, and although I haven't received an invoice for it yet, Pembridge wanted the broker to phone me to request immediate payment. That, combined with the fact that Pembridge doesn't have a user self-service portal (I literally have no ability to go online and look at my coverage, account standing, etc), rubs me the wrong way. And they also seem to be expensive. Bill reminded me that part of the reason I'm paying $6k per year is because I have nice cars and a nice house, but I am getting a sneaky suspicion that I need to do another shop around. $3k/yr for two cars that are pleasure use only seems silly.
tl;dr insurance companies suck.
The personal. They were cheap and easy to deal with. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Haven’t personally had much luck with brokers, never seemed competitive for me.

For whatever reason for myself, The Personal's home insurance is almost 2x of all the other companies around, same level of coverage with bundle discounts.
Shopping around is definitely key. I’m sure we all rank different on each companies algos

Intact (through touchstone) was flawless this month forr my small auto claim. From date of loss to repair being complete was 14 days. Incredible and easy. Zero complaints.
