    Default Refurbished laptops?

I'm looking for a laptop to replace my old Sony. Don't play video games or anything, just need something with good memory and a number pad. Seen refurbished laptops advertised on memory Express.. Is it better than buying something used off Kijiji?

Don't want to spend more than 500

Have a look at refurb.io some good deals there. I prefer the Dell Latitude line myself.

I took a chance on a refurbished Dell Latitude with i7 processor. They seem to have a reputation for being reliable units. Maybe I got a lemon but it only lasted about a year before the motherboard gave up.

I think I did ok considering the price paid, but I’ll never do it again. I find refurbished models often have processors that are a generation or two older. You get more performance and time before obsolescence with new models.

Been looking at "open box" ones at best buy that have been recertified by geek squad. I think I'll go this route

Just make the party wall of your townhouse 1/16th thinner. Or use jysk salad bowls instead of ikea to make your furniture.

    It will all work out.

If you buy an open box at Best Buy, run "Speccy" or something on the laptop as soon as possible. Don't trust the specs on the box or the little "i5" or "i7" stickers on the computer itself.

I bought one earlier this year and the reason it was an open box is because some maggot had done a switcheroo and put an identical-looking, but lower-spec (e.g. worse processor and GPU) laptop in the higher-spec box and returned it to the store. It was a massive pain in the ass explaining to Best Buy what had happened, but they eventually took it back.

Must be a couple of cheap, used laptops for sale in Evergreen by now.
