Finalizing estimate and payment with Cornel from BEST FOR LESS BLINDS & SHUTTERS as we speak.
No brainer. It's about 40% less than I expected for very high quality blinds.

Glad cornel still around. Legit dude. He did the blinds when I moved into this house, 15 years ago.

Great timing, looking to have the main floor windows done. Will book a meeting.

Is Cornel going to be excessively annoyed with doing 2 basement windows? Been on my to do list for months.

I was also happy with Budget Blinds. Went with Serena shades (Lutron), highly recommend them. So nice to be able to schedule them to open with my alarm, or to open the entire room up with one button press.

Paid I think ~$1,000 per window, all very large floor to ceiling type condo windows...$10K total I believe.

Is it possible to still get the bottom up/ top down blinds? I know there was a ban on some styles due to kids killing themselves or something along those lines.

I'm not Calgary based so I couldn't use that recommendation.

    Ended up ordering through selectblinds.ca

Were slightly cheaper than the other various online options, see in a few weeks how they are.

I just bought four very wide zebra shades for my basement. I had checked out a number of online stores and this local company, Shade-It, beat them by quite a margin.
Plus, they installed them at no extra cost. Turn around time from order to install was less than 2 weeks, and their shades are built locally. Highly recommended!

We used selectblinds at our old place. They were fine and definitely cheaper.

What is the price difference between ordering online and installing yourself vs a company that comes and does everything?

Alot of people I know just install themselves and say it's easy.

Went with select blinds. Just the basic line of blinds. They're fine, feel cheaper made but do the job. Got one of the survey emails from select blinds and gave a mediocre review, they contacted me and ended up giving me a 10% discount on my order. Overall, satisfied

Cant comment on the online stuff.
We recently did 4 windows with Budget Blinds and when we compared them to whatever Benjamin Moore sold it was about $700 more. We felt the Budget Blinds stuff (Mera) was much better quality and they were able to get us something without any cords/pull chains. . The install cost was quoted as $170 from each company. Did have BB do the install and the girl they sent did all windows in 45min....
