Similar to buying Miele appliances when you can't afford to hire actual help.

On commercial garage doors they usually pry the overhead door up enough to slip in a floor jack. That will usually do the trick regardless if the overhead door has a deadbolt or any other lock setup. Seen it a few times and the lower door panels, track, rollers and everything completely fucked.
That was going on in the town I lived in 20 years ago,it went on for months before they caught the guys. They would jack up the larger doors that only had the lock on one side. Some people tried pins in the track and what not but they still got in. I had 3 hasps pinned to the cement and carriage bolted with plates on the bottom door panel, left, right and center so I could padlock the door to the floor. The amazing part was that it always happened during the day in broad daylight.
These days though, cordless tools can pretty much get through anything quickly.

It most recently happened to me this Summer, one day after the Safeway in Okotoks closed. Went in to start gutting the equipment and somebody destroyed one of the loading dock doors. The refrigeration alarm was going off in the receiving area and probably scared them off.

LoL I drove by there the other day. When the Hell is that thing going to open? Someone should have told Fresh Co. that the store they are opening was already a grocery store and it shouldn't needs months of work to convert it to a grocery store. LoL!

Opening will be early next year. (I’m not involved in the construction there, just did the therapeutic destruction). Lifespan for supermarket equipment is 7-10 years and I completely gutted the building with 10 tractor trailer loads of metal to the recyclers.

    Wow.
But you see what I'm saying, right? I think it's already been 4 months. And if FreshCo is their discount brand, you'd think they'd be fine with grinding out the remaining years on the existing equipment and replacing them as they fail instead of finding a way to take 6 months to renovate.
I will start my own discount grocery chain in Q1 and bury these fuckers.

The Safeway was corporate owned, all the Freshcos are franchises. The new owner gets new equipment with a fat loan and the choice of one supplier, same place as Safeway. Hurry and sign yourself up. (side note, the right side of the building will probably be a Dollorama to go with your halal food choices)

Isn't there a Dollarama right across the street in the same parking lot as Staples? And a new one up by the new Safeway? How many Dollar stores can a place with a population of 30k have?!

Dollar stores are a growing segment.

It might not be a Dollarama, just what they typically put in the CRUs they build when the store size is reduced. The Freshco in Okotoks will only be 2/3 the size Safeway was.
