Default Ford Duratec 30 Fuel Leak

Raw gasoline smell in cabin that only smells if the car isn't moving and the heater fan is on. So, it's under the hood and extremely minor. Fuel economy unaffected. No visible drips, puddles or stains based on very preliminary inspection.
This is the Ford 3.0L V6 from the early 2000's that was in piles of Fords and Mazdas.

If you know of any typical issues associated with this, please let me know.

I'm not overly familiar with those engines, but I had a similar issue on my Audi 2.7tt, and it was the fuel rail o-rings. Since you aren't seeing any puddles, it might be from an injector, and dripping down the side, burning off immediately on the exhaust.

Yes I'd look in the engine bay for sure.

Different motor but I had a similar issue with the MIL's Grand Cherokee V6. Fuel rail was leaking under the engine cover so you couldn't visibly see anything, no puddles on the ground but the smell of fuel, especially when in the garage.

Check the EVAP cannister. There is a line that vents the gas tank. Look for wetness/dried fuel marks on the hoses.

I can smell it in the engine compartment. Stronger smell towards the rear bank but it's a crowded slut on that back side. You can't see much of fuck all without removing the plenum.
    Dislike.

Someone told me "loose spark plugs"... That sounds hysterically wrong, to me. Had anyone else ever heard of that as an option?

If a spark plug is loose enough that it's blowing raw gas back out the threads, it won't be a problem for long.

YouTube has a good video explaining the operation of that vital part. It's a but technical, but nothing an eit can't handle.

its probably pretty dark back there to see the leak. I would run the engine and then use a lighter or propane torch to illuminate the leak. Make sure you park outside and wear safety glasses and have active insurance.
