Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
Stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Da Nang for nearly a week - great place, very relaxing. Food = paradise.
Also stayed a few nights in HCM city/Saigon, we were with a friend and his wife and they are both Vietnamese and spoke the language, where as I just know a few swear words from Vietnam war books, so that helped, although English was a lot more common than I thought it would be. War Remnants museum there was very interesting for me being a history major/student, wife not so much. Street food in the city made up for it, why can't Canada have such awesomeness ffs? Renting motorcycles, the beaches throughout the entire country...lots to do, you won't be bored. Oh ya, the food.
It's been years, but I doubt much has changed. Probably one of if not the favorite country I've been to.
April in SE Asia? Prepare to be roasted lol
I went to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh 8 years ago or so. I can confidently say that I have no interest in returning to either.
God speed max. Enjoy your banh mi. Remember to be super polite over there
The vietnamese translation for thank you is du ma mai
Tap, Rack, BANG!
I went in 2018(April). One way to Hanoi and out of Saigon. Made my way south using planes, trains and automobiles.
Its a great country. The old quarter in Hanoi was nice. Lots of little cafes, hole in the walls. EAT EAT EAT. I really struggled to eat Asian food coming back to Canada.
I pit stopped many places along the way. Da Nang and Hoi An etc. Hue is really nice. Its the place to get clothes and shoes made. Lots of nice cafes and food places. If you get a chance. Rent some bikes and do the Top Gear Hai Van Pass ride. It was great.
Post photos.

Food is awesome everywhere you go. Da Nang and north were fun beach towns to rent bikes in and zip around.
Sapa area killed me with my asthma, could barely breath in the 100% humidity in April. Would not recommend.
I can eat more hot wings than you.
Check out ha long bay, hoi an and hue, so much to see and do there 10 days is not enough
I went to Vietnam when I was relatively poor and had a great time.
Hanoi is a very cool city, lots to see and do and some great food. We spent about 4 days there and saw quite a bit of the city. From there we went to Ha Long Bay on a 2 night 3 day cruise on an old pirate trip that was quite fun.
From Hanoi we flew into Ho Cho Minh and was a nice stop to see a lot of the history from the war. We only spent a couple days there and took a bus into Cambodia from there.
One thing I can say is crossing the street is basically suicide. You basically just close your eyes, walk at a steady and slow pace and hope nobody takes you out. I’m not kidding either. You feel like you’re going to die until you get used to it and put your life into the hands of the local drivers lol..
Enjoy your time, it’s a cool country and a lot more to offer than what we saw. I’ve heard some of the beach towns are incredible.
I didn't spend a lot of time in Vietnam, couple of weeks, but I think there's probably something for everyone, so what do you want to do?
I personally wanted to get out of Ho Chi Minh, too busy and hard to get around. Like Bavarian said, something simple like crossing the street is an interesting task...
I enjoyed Nha Trang, more of a beach town vibe, known for it's seafood, decent night life. I met some good people there and had some good trips to the countryside (hikes, waterfalls)
Can Tho was a good cultural trip, floating markets in the Mekong Delta. I would definitely go back and spend more time there. I just found the big city life to be exhausting.
Thx beyonders
Im basic so probably go eat some food, look at some things, and take some pictures lol
No trouble for me since I’m not attracted to Asian women, I don’t drink or drugs so probably viet coffee it is
Thank you littledan du ma mai lol
