Pretty sure non runflat summer tires have always been an option on BMW models including the X5? That’s partially on the consumer if they make it an option…This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You actually listen to those things lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Really? I've definitely heard from some owner at some point claiming that wasn't the case. But he could've been a fart nugget. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Definitely an option. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My X5 actually has a spare lol
Plus at the rate X5’s eat tires it is a very solvable problem

To all-seasons? May.
To summers? June.

You’re crazy. I mean there will probably be a day or two in may that will not be good for a car on high perf summers, but just take another car or stay home waiting til June to put summers on is nuts. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Ya May is pretty safe. Even if it does snow it’s not sticking around.
Now is probably fine. But I think for a few more weeks the perf winters will actually have better performance than the summers so on they stay.

Mines going in in a week. It’s getting warm enough theres plenty of heat in the road so even if it snows again it melts so quickly. But I am also going to all seasons so not concerned if/when it does snow a bit.
Probably going to throw the stock wheels back on the GRC this week. Truck can get me through any snow.

I just changed both vehicles over to the all seasons / KO2 yesterday so I am sorry in advance for the snow we will get this week despite it not being on the radar at the time of this post.

To each their own, but if you're driving to work during regular morning hours chances are it's still just barely above 0° at 7 or 8am for the median of April days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

So. Summer racing tires are probably not good. But regular all-seasons are fine.

from the factory only M models get non run flat tires.... the rest are run flats... but it does not stop you from switching them, and you can get a donut spare as a optionThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You can option summer non run flat tires on a virtually all non EV BMW models on the website and has been like that forever so that’s not completely correct. My 2017 M240i also came with non run flat Pilot Super Sports as the standard tire. It’s just people are cheap or they don’t understand/care what tires each vehicle comes with until they already own it, or they just accept pre built vehicles. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
