Understanding hazards is so important and I wish it was mandatory in Canada that folks take a motorcycle class before getting their license. In a country where we have winter at least 6 months a year, varying road conditions, and with motorists not used to motorcycles on the road, it's a no brainer to me.

The amount of riders I see out there who would do poorly when emergency maneuvers are needed is large.

I was told several years ago that to pass the motorcycle licensing test in Denmark, you have to successfully perform a stoppie.

The UK one is quite intense, not quite stoppie material but close

Hitting a certain speed before weaving round pylons is a good part

Licenses also graduated, I can't remember how it works now exactly because it's changed since I did it...but an 18 year old can't jump straight onto an R1 after passing a 30 min test

Yet they still won't exchange a UK Motorcycle License for an AB Class 6

There was some punk on a crotch rocket, with some girl clinging on his back, on Crowchild a month or so ago, lane splitting, weaving and doing way over the speed limit in full rush hour traffic. Was gonna grab his plate number cause its was legit fucked up doing that with a passenger on his back, but of course it was all bent up and you couldn't even make out a single digit. Dude had a death wish for sure.
