Forecast says -20 to -30 next weekend. Winter is coming.
Of course next weekend... exactly when I am coming through town

Well played Calgary weather, well played.

I've been complaining about our 6 degree weather here lately, so cold after coming back from a few weeks in Okinawa.

Even with studded tires, the back alley is a thick sheet of ice that I slip on.

Temperature is a better metric than moisture for seasons, IMO.

This weekend is the right time to get your cords, timers and battery maintainers ready for use next weekend when it's truly cold. If you fuckwads have flat batteries I will not be sympathetic.

Also probably a good time to rethink your humidifier settings.

We have been spoiled into being able to keep home pretty humid to date.

Got a battery blanket this year. I assume I've taken this warm winter all way here with that purchase.
Doubt I'll need it next week. Not cold enough. Needs to be - 30 or lower.

I should really invest in a blanket, since I don't have a block heater.

A garage is a better investment.

I still claim a battery MAINTAINER is more important than a battery blanket or a block heater.

I'll run maintainer and blanket when it's very cold.
Maintainer got me through a lot but I am testing this blanket out this year.

With every day that passes by, I appreciate my attached/heated garage more.

Im starting to get humidity problems. The old furnace kept it dry in here, the new high efficiency one isn't. I don't even have the humidifier plugged in and I'm at 40% right now, which is going to be an issue.

Hearing plows go by grating on the solid asphalt.
Does this city have any accountability on taking care of things and not blasting through their budgets?
    Snow isn't accumulating yet. Geez.

I’m guessing they are out to salt more than plow right now…

They went by my house but weren’t plowing, just laying down grit for the ice

Yea I have been holding 40-45% with the humidifiers set pretty low.

Turned them fully off today and I’m down 3-5% so far. Would like to be low 30’s by the time the cold gets here to avoid my shitty windows freezing

Just got back from a quick trip to Montana. Holy shit, driving was sketchy as hell on highway 22 once it got dark.

You would think that. But I don't usually hear them go by but when it's ripping on pure road, it is noticeable.
