Apple Pay, and I’m assuming google pay, enables that functionality of any card. Lots of stores don’t print receipts anymore and emails you.

Interesting they would bother following it consider the airport is on Federal lands. It's been a point of discussion many times that the CAA/YYC does not need to follow City bylaws. I would probably just ask for the bag and refuse to pay the fee.

Was at the Stephen ave McDonalds on the weekend at 2am when all the pubs shut down and I've never seen such disorganized chaos. The staff was in complete shambles trying to deal with all the orders. Without using bags, they didn't have a system to consolidate people's items into orders to keep them flowing out and it was just a mess of items everywhere. Took 15-20 minutes just to get some fries. At some point all we could do is laugh how terribly it was going as there was a lot of really upset customers having meltdowns.

I was at NESS arena on the weekend because my kids both had ice times there with a gap in between, so we ate supper upstairs in the little restaurant.

My parents were with us, so we had 5 cheeseburgers and 1 poutine, with 6 pops, and it was over $100. I just about fell over. No bags were used.

I honestly have completely stopped going for take out or drive throughs in Calgary... Can't say it will never happen but as it is right now I am spending my money elsewhere. I feel bad punishing restaurant owners for something the idiotic city council did, but maybe if they feel the sting from less business then they will revolt against the city.

In a 10-5 vote, council supported a motion to hold a public hearing to consider repealing the bylaw and bring back a better plan to handle waste management.

A public hearing is required to consider repealing a bylaw that has already been voted for and implemented. The motion calls for a new plan and report to be submitted to council no later than March 31, but the bylaw will stay in place much longer than that.
