We went to the grocery store the first night and they put no more than two items in any given bag. We walked out of there with seven or eight bags when at home, two or maybe three would have been fine.

When I was in Orlando in about 15 years ago there was no deposit on bottles or cans and they needed two garbage collection days per week.
While that's not that recently, it's not like it was the time of Mad Men ad agencies. I'm heading back this year, so I'll be sure to update.

Might be mentioned already but I was at x-iron and several of the food court businesses had the bylaw posted, guessing to charge you the .15, best part is their not in the city of calgary boundaries.....cash grab ftw!!

Self-serve checkout is actually MORE convenient that regular cashier at Superstore. Take all the time you need, the bagging platform is right there. Safeway and coop will still pack my reusable bags for me, although they seem to suck at it. Very old many of me to care how my bags are packed, I know, but that's a peeve I can't get over.

I load my groceries on the belt in the order I want them bagged. Seems to help.

Maybe Im just unlucky but every self checkout trip I take requires a worker to come swipe their card for some reason.

I went to COOP last night and you can’t pay the cashier .15 cents for a compostable grocery bag, but you can buy a pack of 10 for $1.50 and give them to her yourself… Madness! Absolutely fucking ridiculous bylaw.

Co-op in general is becoming a worse organization. They stopped sending rebate cheques and force you to use the app. Their coupons and deals are generally worse than ever, and their regular pricing is more inflated than crappy tire markups.
