I would go with the 335xi.

I had an S3 with a stage 2 tune and supporting bolt ons, intake, intercooler, downpipe, the car was pushing 400hp 400 tq. I really disliked the car, it did fit a big car seat for my 4 year old good.

Im not sure if it was the car or if its all s3 cars, but driving it in the winter with winter tires was scary as hell, the car felt very unstable while driving on snow where the back end felt like its gonna go side ways at any time. I ended up trading the car for a BMW 435xi after 6 months of owner ship.

The 435 was less power for sure but was much more enjoyable then the S3 to drive and the x drive was a monster in the snow with winter tires and the car was way more luxurious compared to the S3 and yes it fit a full size kid seat in the back for my 4 year old

So I would imagine a 4 door 335 would be more roomier then the 4 series.
Dawg he just said no N55

could have been a number of things. I had a 500+hp audi tt and it was great in the winter with good winter tires. Just lay off the boost and you're good. That car didn't even have traction control or ESP or anything.

I'm going to stay away from the N55 found in the 335 due to the bearing issues they have, i don't want to wake up to a seized engine out of the blue. 340i with the B58 took care of all the bearing clearance issues.

I've literally never heard of that happening.

Those BMW engines are bad news.

I think the better comparison would be an X3m40 but in both cases, BMW

C43 or the C400 are looking really good right now too. On paper the c400 sounds similar to the 340i but from what I heard the 340i is alot faster than what BMW says.

Just reading up on them now. Mercedes-Benz charges 400 for a pre purchase inspection vs bmw is only 300. I feel like mercedes will definitely be more costly for reg maintenance but who goes for the dealer for maintenance if it's out of warranty anyway

Given the fact that a $100 difference on an important service-type item even registered as a blip on your radar, you should definitely not be looking at either of those brands

It doesn't make a difference to me. I just have an issue with small details in everything. I don't know how well dealerships go through the pre purchase inspection. When I took a bmw in at a specialized bmw they told me bmw dealership doesn't even take off the engine covers

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

It wasn't to save moneyz I just like to do things like that. I also paint and sold numerous art pieces. Not for the money, just as a hobby

2015 C400 and 2016 C450 are both 1 year and done model but C450 is basically C43 where C400 is just C300 with different engine if I recall correctly.

Transmission change was the big difference between C450 and C43

    Yeah, C450 = C43.

edit: I didn't realize there was a transmission change. But I believe the C450 was supposed to be the AMG-lite before they gave it a "proper" AMG nomenclature.

2 more cogs and more farts is what C43 brought in. It's not a huge deal end of the day.
