What does your employer reimburse for mileage?
And have they adjusted the mileage rate recently/ever?

Looks like the official CRA rate is up $0.02 this year, have to see if we’ve adjusted! Last year the rate was $0.01 lower.. so $0.61
Our company does $0.68 per km
CRA 2024 mileage rate is up to $0.70.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Do most businesses follow CRA maximums... or just you rich O&G guys?
I think it's $0.61
I miss the days I could charge mileage.
My wife mumbled that in her sleep last night. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

CRA is “best practice” if you go too much higher then it’s a taxable benefit
I think if you go any higher its taxable? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm mostly just trying to gauge what is reasonable or what most business pay.
0.64/km here. Just went up for 2024, I don't recall what it was previously.
In true government fashion the definition of taxable is “unreasonable” doing CRA’s regular rate (not the first 5k one) which is the $0.64 this year keeps admin work and guessing to a minimum, so you will find most businesses will be there, some will be lower and only make adjustments as the delta approaches “unreasonable” from the CRA rate. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Anyone getting any substantial amount for travel is getting a taxable benefit, so if you’re within a reasonable amount of that rate, then you’re on par with the average
CRA rate. Doesn't cost your company a dime, they just write it off.

CRA rate, except a day rate (plus they'll pay gas) if we're over 200 k. Think day rate is like $55 or 65
In our case they charge our client as a dispersement (after marking is up a few cents). But similar, doesn't cost the company anything. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'm curious what companies are charging O&G clients for mileage these days.

For a light duty "service truck" at least $1.50/km. More for heavier equipment.

Thanks. Was thinking of more professional consulting rates (service truck as you say) rather than heavy duty machinery. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That's what I thought, yet we get less than CRA reg rate. What's gives? Think it's just over 50 cents/km.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Good thing I don't have to do a lot of driving in my role.
Not sure. Somewhere between the CRA rate and that $1.50/km. But if it was me, I would either pay for the time while driving, or the kms, not both for a consultant. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
