Can confirm all annoying things about hybrids. but the floor space is hard to beat. I have one now, and I wouldn't get another one. If I had an SUV I might.

Well, after that hail at the start of this money, my trailer is fuxxored and certainly going to be written off. Wife and I are talking about not replacing it. We've had so many problems with trailers, and we have other time-intensive stuff coming up.
Anyway, on that note, anyone want a reservation for the long weekend at Chinook? Good site in the lower loop near the lake (C-72). Will sell for price I paid.

damn dude. Sorry to hear; hope your insurance outcome ends up favorable. Glad not to be storing mine in north of the city for this very reason. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Finally made it up there to Cataract. Fantastically quiet. 6 spots were taken out of over a 100. Felt like we were totally alone. Could have used less snow this morning though. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit:
Stop storing them in Hail Alley. That's like three you've lost to that place, isn't it?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

To be fair (to be fair!) of my three trailer hail claims, only one was anywhere near cowtown. One was near rimbey and one was at Bauvais Lake. Now car and truck hail claims, I've had a few locally.
Cataract is such a nice spot. The hike along the creek to Titan Falls and the wpping wall is nice too. Sorry about the snow.

For a number of reasons I haven't been camping much. But I still say chinook PRA is one of the nicest places in the province.

Probably for the best, just booking spots alone has become such a clusterfuck... With the loss of all those Jasper sites I'm thinking next year is going to be even worse. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Spent 2 nights camping and hiking at Lake O’hara, incredible place.
^not as cool as that, but spent the weekend at McLean. Had to bail because of a sick kid, but pretty nice weekend.
How's the crowd at Mclean? Much brap brap?

Took in two nights at Dino RV park in Drumheller for thanksgiving. Felt bad for lots of people who woke up to burst water filters and fresh water lines as it unexpectedly dipped down to -4 Friday night. Lots of sites were getting flooded Saturday morning. Thankfully, we were running off our fresh tank under our bed so no issues. Fun way to end the season. Winterized the rig this afternoon. Kinda bummed cause we got out so many time this year I wasnt really ready for it to be over.

Picked up a tent trailer as a freebie from a neighbour. Gonna store it until next spring but wondering how much does trailer maintenance typically cost? My dad said I might as well just get the bearings greased and repacked so it’s set for a while.
bearings, brakes, tires and batteries are ongoing things that needs to be checked often and replaced more often than you think.
Roof and other exterior sealing should be checked and "maintained" annually. No idea on the maintenece on the fabric of the tent trailer.

They said they’d just had the roof resealed and there’s no fabric tears so I’m optimistic I can just focus on doing some mechanical maintenance for the first bit Hopefully.
Does it have a fridge? Water system?
Tent trailers are super simple. Pack the bearings, check the trailer lights, grease the lifting mechanism (should have a zerk near the centre of the trailer), you'll probably be set. If it has a fridge, may need to fart with the propane system.
Id pop it open and make sure its dead dry on the canvas before storing for the winter. You do not want to fight mold on it
Yes you want it dead dry for sure. A few of those damp-rid moisture traps are a decent idea. Dollarama sells them.
