Starting to be that time of year again. Where is everyone looking at going this year?

I managed to scoop Lake O'Hara for a weekend in September which will be nice to finally see.

Mount Robson Provincial park, and Jasper is on my list. I'm fucked with days off because of a Scotland trip though, might not be able to make it happen. But will reserve it if I can and figure that other stuff out later. Maybe I'll quit.... hahah.

Parks Canada's Reservation for this year opens tomorrow at 8AM. We will try to scoop into the otentiks again in Banff (as it's a yearly thing for our family). We managed to book a weekend last year (got lucky). Let's see if we can be lucky again.

You will have access to your existing Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca account until February 18 to take note of sites you have reserved in the past, as this data will not transfer over to the system.

I'm getting 404'd when I try to sign-in to the old system to get all my sites. Hopefully others fare better. I remember most of them, fortunately.

I am able to log in to the old system and hot tip, the easy way to archive your old reservations is to just copy and paste into a spreadsheet. You have to do it year-by-year but it's not bad.
Now saved in a google sheet in my drive for posterity and future reference.

Has anyone camped at the Blood Indian Park out East of the city? Looking for a spot on the last weekend of August for ~50 vehicles for an event, the location looks massive but wondering how busy it really gets.

Well not necessarily 50 sites but space for 50 vehicles and tents if it’s an open random camping area. Just one night deal and it needs to be in that general area due to the route.

Ok thanks. Drove out to the area Friday and looked around, found Carolside and Blood Indian but there’s not a lot else around, pretty remote area.

If I was you I'd phone the office of the special areas board and ask them for advice. They run the campgrounds but also they probably know everything else out there.

Booked for long weekend at Kinbrook. New site works fine, even if it looks like its from 2001.

Spent 9 nights in the camper up in northern BC as the traditional kick off to camping.. camper is a life saver when doing ~3500 k of driving!
