    Default Private Chef - Recommendations?

My Wife wants to have a private chef come cook for her and her friends for her birthday, anyone have recommendations on a good chef? I've checked a couple websites, but figured I'd consult with the greatest consortium of local (self proclaimed) Ballers.. We're not fancy people so not something we've ever done haha.. Appreciate any input though.

We've used him a few times, and always had great experiences.
He does cooking classes and private events.

We've used https://www.blackaproncuisine.com/ a handful of times over the last few years, always really good.

$1k minimum, but last time my brother in law used them that got a 5 course meal for 8 people, including tax and tip. Can just email them and tell them what you want, and they'll work with you to come up with pricing/menu options.

I did this for my 40th birthday - brunch. Worked really well since nobody had to do anything other than show up and eat, esp. since we all had young kids at the time.

I can't remember lol. It was too long ago

But it was great. Perfect eggs, a ridiculous fukton of bacon, it was buffet style, they even bring plates, utensils, napkins, etc.

I'll ask my wife, she's the one that set it up.

You know what’s even better that having someone come into your house and cook?

Sending your wife and friends to a place where they cook for you and then clean up after you after. For a fraction of the cost.

    Haha

If you basically want a catered meal for a bunch of people that’s a much broader sector.

it all depends if he supplies food and booze or not.
i think it was $65/person(multiple courses) and he supplied food only.

Further to Killys comment about just going to a restaurant. Booking a Chefs Table or Tasting Menu at one of the nicer places, or a private room, is a pretty stellar experience. I highly recommend Rouge for that, as they have actual separate rooms.

fwiw these places clean up after you too, it's just in your own kitchen. This concept works much better at houses that have large entertaining/dining areas and butlers pantries.
