Weird. I don't remember any classes about how to accept the goths, sluts, band geeks, skaters, jocks, etc. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We learned math and science and the personal identity issues were figured out socially.
Right, it's hilarious they also try to hide it behind religion, i grew up going to catholic school, from the best of my recollection, the catholic values were to love and accept everybody reguardless of their perceved abnormalities. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Comparing what you did in school 20-30 years ago is hilarious. Compare it to 20-30 years before that and when you were in school would have been seen extremely liberal. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Seems to me that most of this is a pent-up worry that kids may actually be non-straight, and not having the emotional capacity to support that decision if it comes to light.

I think a lot of it is they see being female as the lesser gender. Nearly every argument against it is boys turning into girls, not the other way around. I'm not so interested in the topic that I'm willing to defend this hypothesis too strongly, but it's not hard to see the same pattern over and over. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I don't think any of this would have been an issue one way or the other if parents would just raise their own kids instead of making schools and government do it. I don't have kids since women universally find me unfuckable though, so what do I know.

I think a big part is they're terrified they might be attracted to a trans person and not know the person is trans, and they would be incredibly embarrassed by that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It’s great that people with no kids in school care so much about this.
Imo this has little to do with “acceptance” or whatever hand wringing word people want to use, and more about setting the precedent that teacher-student confidentiality trumps the parents access to information. Which is crazy.
I think you guys are turning a parental rights issue into a hate issue and that is not the case for most at all. You all just enjoy being inflammatory. You sound just as bad as the people who claimed allowing gays to marry leads to everyone marrying and fucking their dogs, only in bizzaro reverse style. “Giving parents rights means all our kids are going to be sad and die!!! OMG!!! We must let our teachers save the world from the horrible breeders!!”
Thaco is ready for the state to raise his kids.
I mean, ‘genital mutilation cult’ and ‘trannies’ has been brought up already. There is some obvious bigotry at play by some (not all). If it’s entirely ‘parental rights’ then why is there no dismay that parental rights does not matter if the kid is under 15? Those parental rights are fine to be removed, but others aren’t?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Some might say it was a LGBTQ+ rights issue first, before people turned it into a parental rights issue. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I don't understand what you are referring to here... Everything I am reading about the new rules suggests otherwise. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
With minors it is always a parental rights issue... What is happening now is people are trying to turn it into a state issue over-riding parental rights by creating boogey-peoples (that one was for you Trudeau) out of parents. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Honestly, No we weren't. That was something that was ingrained as a basic value growing up.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I know there were kids who weren't raised like that, and it absolutely boggles me. School is not the place to learn that, and maybe I'm just not-remembering correctly, but the teaching staff didn't really have to burn any calories on teaching us something that we should have organically learned and taught with our upbringing.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."

Puberty blockers and hormone therapies for gender affirmation will not be permitted for children aged 15 and under.”
This is a ban. Not a ban unless parents say yay/nay. Therefore, it’s removing parental rights..no?
And what happened to get to that point was people trying to turn it into a state issue overriding LGBTQ+ rights by creating boogeymen out of teachers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

dunno, I think its remarkably consistent that conservatives seem to care about the concept of parental responsibility for children, while the left generally would prefer to abdicate any semblance of personal responsibility for anything related to kids to the state. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
