Right, it's hilarious they also try to hide it behind religion, i grew up going to catholic school, from the best of my recollection, the catholic values were to love and accept everybody reguardless of their perceved abnormalities.

Comparing what you did in school 20-30 years ago is hilarious. Compare it to 20-30 years before that and when you were in school would have been seen extremely liberal.

Seems to me that most of this is a pent-up worry that kids may actually be non-straight, and not having the emotional capacity to support that decision if it comes to light.

I think a lot of it is they see being female as the lesser gender. Nearly every argument against it is boys turning into girls, not the other way around. I'm not so interested in the topic that I'm willing to defend this hypothesis too strongly, but it's not hard to see the same pattern over and over.

I don't think any of this would have been an issue one way or the other if parents would just raise their own kids instead of making schools and government do it. I don't have kids since women universally find me unfuckable though, so what do I know.

I think a big part is they're terrified they might be attracted to a trans person and not know the person is trans, and they would be incredibly embarrassed by that.

Honestly, No we weren't. That was something that was ingrained as a basic value growing up.

I know there were kids who weren't raised like that, and it absolutely boggles me. School is not the place to learn that, and maybe I'm just not-remembering correctly, but the teaching staff didn't really have to burn any calories on teaching us something that we should have organically learned and taught with our upbringing.

dunno, I think its remarkably consistent that conservatives seem to care about the concept of parental responsibility for children, while the left generally would prefer to abdicate any semblance of personal responsibility for anything related to kids to the state.
