Kert, the scenario you've described is possible. Almost certainly has happened.

They are in the US. And the slippery slope we are currently on, is how we get to that point in the first place. So it's great to see a political leader trying to do something more than nothing about this subject. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

This isn't what the legislation is even about. So wtf are you talking about? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Kurt's "teacher" earning the trust of kids always coming over to his house sounds like a pedophile in action.
Assuming he's not, any normal parent would reach out to the other parent. Open that line of communication. That's called being a responsible parent.
And stuff like it is happening enough in schools that the government needs to get involved. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Good things happen when the government makes legislation about something, right?
Maybe our education system should spend more time teaching math and less time on social experiments.

Nice to see common sense win out against the woke left once in a while

Seems clear if your kids think you're full of shit, it's because you are. 'School is not a safe space to keep secrets from your parents' and 'it's not for you or I to decide if a shitty parent wants to exclude their kids from LGBT/sex ed curriculum' are not compatible statements. How would it stop Jimmy from talking to teachers and counselors? Because before they could trust if they asked to not have their parents told about it they could believe it to be true. Now they have to worry that if they talk to teachers or counselors the government mandates will explicitly out them.
Nothing is stopping a parent, shitty or otherwise, from having conversations or opening up dialogues between parents and their kids. You shouldn't need the government to notify you about the need for one. If you do, it's because you're a shitty parent.
No. The only reason they need to "worry" about their parents being told, is if they're attention seeking little shits that demand teachers call them ze/zherThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sounds like a reasonable solution to this health crisis.
Is it? That's the hard part for me to wrap my head around. How much is it happening? Like I said, I don't think reliable statistics exist for this, so we are left with anecdotes, which can be misleading both ways. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yup. It sounds like @kertejud2 is a little lost. I’ll post a summary of the pronoun name change for reference:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The changes include requiring parental consent for students 15 and under who want to change their names or pronouns at school. Students 16 and 17 would not need consent, but their parents must be notified.

What's neat is that even with parental permission, forms being signed, meetings with school administrators, there are some teachers who refuse to use different names and pronouns. That can be pretty frustrating.
Like I said, not all teachers are great, or inclusive. I don't personally think as a group they are any more trustworthy or reliable than parents.

that's the fun part about hypocrisy, when the covid deniers were squacking that "only 1 % of the world is dying, why do i have to wear a mask and distance and get the vax" and now they're like "1% of teens want to use pronouns that i dont like, it doesnt effect me, and it's just words, but it's taking OVeR ThE WoRLd!@@!@@"This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Watched the news on this last night and they mentioned how this new legislation will be contested, potentially at a Federal level. And i just cannot fathom why anyone would oppose these new rules to pursue a court challenge. No one says Jimmy can't change his pronouns. The new rules do not stop anyone who wishes to identify as something other then their biological sex. Just tell you parents. Don't lie about it, have the conversation. If people in those situations are worried about getting their ass beat by Mom and Dad who don't agree, we already have laws for that.
I think everyone would agree not staying in an abusive situation is better for any child's development and if the opposite side of this conversation is lying about to keep the peace in the house. Well that's not beneficial to either child or parents in the long term either.
It all comes down to this. Our society is spoiled where people are effectively bored so they come up with issues to fill their time with. Arguing about nonsensical crap like this. World wars tend to reset things and we start to worry about things that do matter. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We don't need war for that. Overpopulation, water shortages, and food scarcity will take care of that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

On the radio this morning Breckenridge stated they'll talk about the parental rights issue. He made the claim the ucp will ban abortions next.
What a douche.
