That was a gun quail, gutted in the end seeing Ham bottle it after topping q2. Fuckin GR seems to always margin over him when it matters.

Nor is on fire, hope he doesn't buckle under pressure. Happy to see RBR where they are at, it's finally becoming competitive with the margins.

Imagine being out strategized by this lot. Did they weigh the cars yet?

My condolences. Charles was pissed when he was pitted and they wanted to go with a 1 stop. Wow.

Not swapping Lando and Oscar is a mistake. I have no problem with the first lap pass, but it wouldnt matter to either driver who gets second or third.

Watching the post race stuff, Zac brown says he has 2 number 1 drivers. He’s got 2 great drivers but at some point one of the drivers has to get the push to go for the championship. They mention that maybe there is something in Oscar’s contract that won’t allow him to be a number 2, considering mark webber is his manager it makes a lot of sense.

Lando looks defeated answering questions, Zac looks pissed whenever asked why he doesn’t swap the drivers. It’s going to be a exciting end to the season for McLaren

Yeah seems odd that Oscar wasn’t given the opportunity to return the favour and swap positions

    Yes I agree.
But Norris also made this partnership an interesting one by showing off in the past.
It is going to be interesting how McLaren is going to handle this.

Just as Mclaren gets their shit together... They start to lose their shit.
How they are handling Piastri / Norris is wild.

Lando got ahead of Oscar due to godawful team strategy, Oscar passed Lando on merit. I get the feeling McLaren isn't entirely convinced Lando is consistent enough to warrant being treated as a true #1, especially with how rapidly Piastri seems to be developing.

I also suspect there is something in Oscar's contract saying he won't be treated as a #2 driver. Mark Webber is his manager and he knows the game well.

Edit: Just saw @danno said the same.

Even if it’s in his contract doesn’t mean he can’t be asked to be a team player. You’d have to be some kind of asshole when there’s 0% chance you’re in the wdc race and you don’t want to give up a 2nd place to your teammate for 3rd place because your contract says so. Especially when said teammate gave up a win, and you’ll be working with them for at least a couple years, and the need for teammates help can easily flip the other way around in the future.

In honestly think this is a McLaren strategic decision at this point. A poor one at that. Oscar should be offering to help the team and teammates best interests at this point.

Yep, it would have been smart for McLaren to at least ask... makes Oscar look bad if he says no.

I feel another Rosberg/Hamilton dynamic coming on.

With constructor in sight, you would think they want to settle this now so they don't take each other out in the last 8 races. Came pretty close this weekend.

I can see Lando snapping and running Oscar off the road...

if the car is competitive next year it will be a full on war...
