There's sort of big underlying story behind it all, can't say I've followed it that close but basically RB is split between Thai and Austrian ownership and they've been butting heads since Dietrich Masteschitz (co-founder / owner of RB) passed away last year. Those sides sort of extend to Horner vs Helmut as well and sounds like there's been power grabs for who can take a larger stake of power for the F1 team recently.

The tin foil hat part is that the allegations against Horner were a lot more minor but it was then leaked to the media to make him look much worse in hopes it would push him out. Then when the investigation revealed it was concluded there was another larger mysterious leak of conversations and messages trying to further attack him. Unsubstantiated rumours now is Helmut might've been involved in pushing this issue forward as a way to attack Horner behind the scenes.

Newey is a wild card. The only people he's mentioned wanting to work with recently are Hamilton and Ferrari... who are conveniently in the same place next season. I saw a headline today saying that Ferrari is already making overtures to his staff.

I highly doubt Max will leave mid season. If he does leave mid season, hats off to him for staying true to his words.

For this year? No chance anyone moves. Max isn’t going to sit out half a season just to make a point. Hamiltons seat isn’t open until next season to start the shuffle.
