Is there a more overrated driver than GR? I have said it here quite a few times. Cracks under pressure and safety car, it's amazing.

Most exciting one in a while. Sainz making himself a hard person to replace.

Hilarious that Ferrari is getting rid of him for two guys who constantly complain about their car.

Russell has a 100% crash rate when Sainz wins races is my new favorite stat.

So was it a brake check? Or was Alonso going slower without a sudden or unexpected brake event?

Telemetry doesn't lie. He slowed down 100m earlier than any other lap this race, and tapped the brakes. Then he shifted, accelerated to the normal braking point and made the corner.

Loved that race for obvious reasons and hated it for the same so bitter sweet but overall loved the first DNF. Lol.

But it's pretty clear that unless there's an act of God, Verstappen gonna win every time, so I don't wanna get too excited as it's not like that clown isn't gonna win 10 next races in a row. FML.

And as much as I try not to like GR even though he seems to think he is better than LH, the guy just always buckles under the pressure. Alonso is a sly dog and has always been and he should have been better prepared regardless of whatever happened.

Yea, the point of which was to not give an easy DRS advantage to Russell at the end.

I think he overdid the move but it's also how racing should be - unless we just want to see DRS passes on the straights all the time. George badly f'd up by losing it that badly - if he hadn't lost it the stewards wouldn't have even looked twice at it.

I think it's pretty boring if the drivers are expected to drive the same line in the same way each time and I don't think Russell was so close behind him that this could be considered a "brake check" but the penalty didn't hit them too hard so I guess just take it and move on.

Doesn't help that Johnny Herbert hates Alonso and was a steward, either.

You just need to get over it and hate-fuck Verstappen already.

Gotta disagree there. It's one thing to take a bit of a different line to have a higher exit speed but that's not that he did. The video has his telemetry in it as well.

Sainz to replace Checo in 2025 is looking like a possibility.

As happy as I was to see Max out, it wrecked my fantasy rankings.

Perez such a putz, running his mouth after the race that the car couldn’t catch Ferrari or McLaren lol.

Them Max and Helmut chime in after saying , yea no I had no issue keeping pace with Sainz while my car was working.

Turns out even with the cheater car Perez just isn’t a competitive driver lol

Supposedly Perez picked up a tear off in the floor of the car while passing Alonso that affected things quite a bit.

"We went long on the first stint," said Red Bull team principal Christian Horner. "And his actual pace when he was coming through the field on the hard tyre as he closed in on Fernando was strong, and matching that of the leaders.

"And then literally as he's passed Fernando, he's picked up a tear-off underneath the floor and it's got lodged in an area that's caused significant load loss.

"So as he's then passed Fernando, the car's not working as it should. And so then you start to see degradation on the tyre, and again at the end of the second stint, which has been unusual for our cars."

Regarding the impact on downforce, Horner added: "I think it was in excess of 20 points. So it's a significant amount. It just shows how sensitive these things are."
