Looking to get out of town again soon for a weekend. Any secret spots I don't know about?
Dislike Banff, Jasper is too far for too little. Have been to Storm Mountain Lodge and Azure Ridge, but want somewhere new to us. 4 hours absolute max.

Stay in an Elf's House or a Pirate Ship cabin in Blairmore.
Hah! I actually just looked at those and might book one for a pre-camping tour in the summer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Been there before and going back soon. It's a fantastic drive to a great location. Wood-fired hot tub is also super neat. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
DT Drumheller is oddly okay. If you like badlands hikes or the museum.

I'm a big fan of Fernie!
We are chilling in Revelstoke this weekend... Nice town!
I actually thought you were just being...well, you, and made this shit up. Imagine my surprise when googling after reading a couple posts further down that these actually exist. Very cool, going on the list. No kids, but I have a nephew that is 9 and will be blown away be a couple of these I'm sure. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Holy crap thanks for this!
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. We're really looking for something that's kind of stand-alone though, with a restaurant on site. Avoiding people/crowds is my favorite vacation hobby.
Might check our Emerald Lake Lodge. Anyone been there?

Does Engadine Lodge count as "stand-alone"? There will be other people there, but it's basically a closed site (i.e. open for guests only) and it's small. You will have to interact with others at dinner though, as a few tables are "group seating" (but they mix them up every night). They have a few individual tables too, but no guarantees on reserving them if you're feeling antisocial. Enjoyed my stay there about a year and a half-ago.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've heard 2nd/3rd hand that Emerald Lake Lodge has become a bit 'rundown' or beat-up over the last few years; lacking on upkeep post-Covid, but the higher frequency of more recent reviews with this perspective turned me off of staying there recently. Book it and verify the claims!
