A neighbourhood dog around my mom's place was put down as too many serious complaints we're made to bylaw, some of which hadn't even been reported so the dog had bitten more people and dogs than officially stated. Naturally, the owner was and still is a lazy degenerate, now with another dog, who's also very large. Bets on how that goes?

There's plenty of idiot owners at the dog park too. People have been pretty vocal about not taking their dog there anymore because of too many incidents. From what I've read/heard, it's a lot of doodles biting, fighting etc.

I'm a big supporter of bully breeds and am definitely of the school of thought that its not the dog its the owner. But this whole situation is fucked. The fact there wasn't a manslaughter charge or at the very least criminal negligence and removing the other two dogs from his care is wild.

Old lady gets killed by out of control dogs. Dude gets a fine, 1/3 dogs gets put down. Dude can keep the other two dogs and has no other consequences.

While some dogs can have behavioral issues it will always fall back to the owner to be responsible and give proper training and care.

While I agree wholeheartedly with this, it is a losing argument when it comes to public perception.

I am in full support of ban on pitbulls. The only dog that has attempted to bite me at a dog park was a pit bull. Look at any collection of dog attacks stats and you will see that pitbulls are responsible for attacks and deaths at many multiples as compared to other breeds.

It doesn't help that they have a tough guy image and people that live in shit hole parts of town tend to gravitate toward them either because they never grew out of junior high school or believe they require this breed to dissuade property crime. In my view this type of owner is far more likely to be lenient with aggressive behaviour from the dog (dog that tried to bite I had to kick multiple times and the fucking owner then tried to fight me)

Anecdotally, I have noticed a far higher rate of un-neutered male pitbulls. This makes a dog far more aggressive. Reinforces my view that a typical pitbull owner should not be a dog owner.

Shitty breed + low IQ owner = a dog that will prompt me to cross the street when I see one. Luckily in my area no ones owns these garbage dogs so they are a rare occurrence.

Your post proves your lack of knowledge on these dogs and the type of owners. You are no better than all the other people in this thread who just default to thinking "pitbull" is an actual breed when the dogs that were involved are Staffordshires.

People will have their thoughts and opinions and judgements on things and that is fine. But making those blindly or not having any prior experience with the breeds gives you no foot to stand on when it comes to an opinion.
