Very nice acquisition, thumbs up, and welcome to Team Lexus. Great shape for a 2008, nice to see such a long time hunt be over for you now Finboy.

I’m considering removing the rear seats, there are some really cool 3d printed options out there with mounting points *but* the third row might actually help me with transporting my snowboard bag in the car. I’m going to try it out for a while and make the call. Sadly my garage is too short for a topper.
Had a very Lexus themed day, first I went to visit @tirebob to get a new spare thrown on. Preview for spring on the size I’m going, still need to put on spacers and do some minor front wheel well tweaks.
When I pulled out of urban I ran into this fine specimen in Jewish racing gold.
After that I headed down to visit a family friend at Lexus Calgary where this truck was sold originally in 2008. My family friend actually remembers it showing up and getting sold within a couple of days. They have their own glass guy who is going to work on the aluminum moulding trim and clips that have come apart over the years, I also had to order a touch up paint pen that isn’t available in North America currently. While there, I spotted another old Lexus.

Great pics and story. Love the LFA, I wonder what they want for it. My love and appreciation for that car is a huge reason why we're on LC number 2. It's no LFA, but for $100k ish (or lower if you look for used models, which I always do), you can get at least "some" of those "feels". LFA sound is V10 epic, but the LC V8's sound is among the best stock V8 in terms of sound/acoustics available IMO.
You have me thinking with this thread Finboy. Posted in the Land Cruiser thread about the 4 similar Toyota/Lexus variants, Land Cruiser, Seqouia, and Lexus GXand LX. Maybe I should look at the used 570 market, as I will only be using an SUV for winter roads/driving...and why buy a new one when a good used one will do. Lots of food for thought. Anyhow, great new vehicle (again), and good luck with the minor mods.
It’s the owners. Not for sale. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Me and the family like to spend Wednesday nights taking turns touching and sitting in it. Then there's always this very well-dressed Asian man with a fancy watch who gets all cunty about it, each and every time like he fuckin works there or something...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I got a standing offer on it that they'll take whenever this market crash thing happens. Any minute now... Any minute!
Going rate on BAT seems to be 800k usd

Ya, I kinda wondered if that LFA was just a flex, as I've never seen that color come up for sale in Canada, at least in a long, long time. My favorite color after Brit Racing Green, is a silver-ish color such as that LFA. It's crazy how much the value has increased on the LFA...other than the sound, it really isn't..well worth what it is IMO. Especially compared to what you can get for a LOT less $, like a Huracan, or even an Aventador (I'm talking used of course), F12, etc etc and etc. Still love it though.
The-Pen----is-mightier (are you a writer of some kind, or did you just find that name to be amusing?) - the missus and I do the same thing at least once or twice a month, check out dealerships and play sit and go with the various display models. She has a hard time griefing salespeople, because reasons (blond + upper chest body mods + hot), but me, it's simple and frequent. One time I went with a printed t-shirt that had the 4 quarters drawn (that stupid sales one page tactic), with the large red circle and slash "bad" symbol drawn around it. A couple guys laughed, one was extremely butt hurt. One of the Ford dealerships when we were checking out Raptors.
You're funny. I'm not a writer, I'm an insane person who looks at forums upsidedown and is allegedly guilty of hard core, right wing~ism and something called "projection". (Check with tHaCo). Maybe I'm an unemployed Projectionist? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
My name is simply a rip-off from a Norm MacDonald SNL skit about Jeopardy. You should look it up as it's quite funny.
This particular post is amildlybarely clever poke at the fact that that car has a giant sign saying "NOT FOR SALE - DO NOT TOUCH" combined with the fact that I know a guy who works there.
I would love to have an LFA. "Value" isn't linear and goes completely out the window with exotics in general, but that's a special machine.
Sorry that I forget how many casual observers aren't really "catching my flow". I tend to speak & act like I was surrounded by close friends who know me well. That's why I gotta wait for a lake to thaw out so I canget rid of that HR bitch that used to be up my ass all the time...go swimming... Soon.
Hey, do you have a truck and know anything about "ice fishing"?
Check and agreed. I've always liked your posts, just missed the Norm MacDonald ref for some reason, I knew I'd seen something like that before. Norm = one of my favorite comedians and in the top 3 SNL people of all time IMO. Seeing him come up with shit live on Conan and other shows is mind bending and hilarious. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I'd love an LFA too, and IF I had one, I might even turn into a dick and buy a dealership just to park mine in with a PFO sign on it - but I sure hope not.
Is Calgary Lexus a good dealership for service, owner flexing (understandable with that car) notwithstanding? Using Taylor @Regina atm, they've been excellent tbh, just wondering for future me.
Calgary Lexus is reasonable for service. I've had good experiences there, my dad has had some good, some mediocre. Generally, it's an above average dealership experience, but not perfect.
Agreed, been at LoC for several years now with wife's various SUVs - usually a decent / above average experience. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Glad to hear, there are a few known issues I’ll have to deal with eventually (rad+water pump, valley gasket, cam towers), so I’m looking for a good Toyota shop.

Talk to Dean at Pro-Active... Solid all around good human and an amazing general mechanic and Toyota specialist!
Can't go wrong with Krave either for all things toyota/lexus truck/suv.
Cheers boys, I don’t mind doing some work on this but cracking open the motor is beyond my tolerance for risk.

Two wins and a loss today
Win 1 - upgraded to better led headlights, this required extended dust caps for the rear of the low beam as the pivoting headlights would interfere.
Win 2 - twitchy mirrors hopefully solved, Toyota used bolts without lock washers in the mirrors which causes a twitch at highway speeds. I installed the upgraded units as well as comically brittle plastic covers.
Loss - fog lights, ugh. There were diode dynamics previously but the seals must have dried out as both housings were suffering from moisture and the bulbs were quite corroded. Drivers side went fine, passenger side where there is a vent that allows moister to splash back, not so much. I will have to drop the bumper to finish the job as 2 of the screws were on the verge of stripping and no one needs rounded off screws in their life. I will deal with that when I get back from vacation and rock the two colours for now.

Nice ride! Is the Toyo OC good for trail runs and are they noisy on pavement? Curious how A/T tires run when not in dirt roads.
