Sansui Monitor Parts / Salvage ??

Anyone have an older Sansui Monitor that has shit the bed ?

I am trying to breath some like back into a Sansui ES-27X3AL monitor for my wife.

I know they are cheap / replaceable and not worth the effort, hence why I am trying to gather scrap parts instead of buying new.

Internet searches are coming up empty for a new main board.

Maybe you are sitting on one with a cracked screen / broken mount etc...

Are you sure it's the main board? What's the symptom?

For the $130 on Amazon... I wouldn't waste my time.

You would basically have to tear that one down and hope to find parts on Ebay, but being a non-standard monitor brand.. going to be pretty tough.

80's for sure. I had a G-6700 receiver. What a beast! They sell for quite a bit in the retro audio scene.

I used to repair monitors back in 2008-2015 as a hobby.
Of the 60 that I have in my spreadsheet, only 1 had a mainboard problem. Most were power supply, or inverter (the old CCFL backlight models) issues.

Have you checked the power supply? I believe that model had an external brick.

Yeah, that would definitely lean toward the main board.

So on a whim, I emailed the manufacturer about the issue I was having,

Yesterday a brand new replacement shows up on my door step.

Waiting now to see if they want the old one back. If not...the search continues.
