Default Best corporate swag you were ever given.

Might be getting some promotional items for work. Wondering what unique or memorable swag you've been given.
Golf shirts and soft shell jackets are always appreciated. I have a few koozies that I like. What else is something you'd keep for a long time and appreciate?

Not trips or event tickets, physical items.

    Luggage

    Golf balls

    Whisky tasting glasses

Probably rounds out a top 3

Luggage, yeah good call. I got a set of Ogio bags back in the day, and they have held up well and are still in regular use.
Actually got some wicked waterproof duffles as part of a Optimization project once, really good stuff but I don't use it often. Should see where I left those.

Got these for my team back in 2017, and still see people wearing them. Like a softshell, but a little better IMO.

Edit: Got them some good hats that year as well that many continue to use. It was a Nike tennis or golf hat IIRC that we got logo'd, not just a lame hat from an embroidery place. Even some of the folks that have since left to work for other companies still wear these.

Anotha edit: Also these, on the topic of luggage. I've still got mine kicking around somewhere: https://www.altitude-sports.com/prod...l-tnf-nf0a52st

Moral of the story: Don't start your shopping at a corporate merch company, I've never found anything good. Just start shopping for things you think you'd want, then find a distributor that will put your logo on them. I had to talk to H/H corporate to find the right person.

I got a luggage duffel bag that I used for every single vacation and work trip for almost two decades, and the thing still looks new except for one broken wheel bracket. The manufacturer doesn't make luggage anymore, and unfortunately I can't find a bracket that will fit.

Edit: Actually I supposed the best "swag" would be the full sets of Helly Hansen arctic parka/pants that I got every two years from them. I barely used the first one (and still have it) so sold all the subsequent ones.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

I have a Swiss Army Leatherman Type of Utility tool I got for one of my first commissioning assignments back in 2001 I believe.

Still has the old AEC logo on it.

One of their last projects before merging with Pan Canadian I believe...

Carry it everywhere with me when I travel.

    Fun story

Got denied buying a couple hundred logo’d jackets from a big name recently because we were too dirty for them to associate with haha.

HH took our order the next day.

Branded Yeti coolers would be the biggest W. Soft shells or hoodies are nice too and probably what I'd use the most. Stationary stuff just gets chucked into a drawer and never used.

    North Face actually

In hindsight I don’t know why we were surprised. Though they kindof let us on by sending us the size samples etc.

They basically only figured out we were a dirty oil company at the 11th hour

I got a really nice water proof heavy duty stormtech duffle from a vac truck company that did their logo in black so you can barely see it, I use it all the time still. I also got a meater + blue tooth BBQ thermometer that was branded which I thought was neat. I think a nice leatherman would be really good as well. If you wanted a wearable item then a good quality quarter zip, especially for our weather here.

Hats, pens, coasters etc are all lame. Yetis are nice but everyone and their dog does those, I think I have 5-6 that I try to rotate through.

Meater would be a sick swag gift. I can't stand getting Stormtech crap anymore.

Right, we've done a couple good Nike golf 1/4 zips as well.

-100 for stormtech haha. IMO, that's the generic merch stuff that usually gets tossed in a closet until it gets donated after collecting dust for 5 years.

His and hers Maui jim sunglasses of our choice, Apple Watch, Apple AirPod Max from a single corp event. There’s more stuff but event tickets to a private concert doesn’t count.

Don’t think that’ll ever be beat lol.

Some memorable items that come to mind:
    - Espresso machine
    - Tiffany wine glasses and decanter
    - Bag Boy golf travel bag
    - Contigo water bottle (still use this to date)
    - 10 lb box of bacon

Like 12 years ago I got a Thule suitcase which I still use today; has a small zip-off backpack too which is super useful for carry-ons or little day trips.
Well made, purpose built, and durable gear like that seem to be winners in my shop. Little Gildan hoodies and zipup/shells and shit usually get donated, or punished as yard/garage gear where it will fall apart after a few years.
