Whats also fucked is OP's future. If they aren't even living there and the neighbour is already like this, future years aren't going to be any better.

They can try to play that game but I'm a nice guy till someone pushes me to the edge. They are just bitter that the new house there is much bigger than what was there before. The old house was sunken into the lot and we had to bring in a shit load of materials to bring the lot up to street level making the structure fairly higher than there's.

I do believe once the construction is mess is done with then it should clear up most of their bitterness.

I didn't fight any neighbors really on the zoning. I believe it was only him and someone who didn't' even live near the lot who opposed it while I even got a few letters of approval so it was pretty much widely accepted.

It's a duplex, not a multifamily house but ok. Regardless of if it's a duplex or a single family, whoever was tearing that house down was going to build a bigger home than the 800sq ft house that was on there.

Coffee table looks great, getting lots of compliments on it.

scaffolding was not organized by myself, its the contractor in which did that but it was myself who rectified them being so angry.

The neighbor on the other side invites me over for UFC events at this house where I was introduced to another neighbor down the street. I don't even live there and i've been welcomed by others, its just these guys.

He won't have had to fight anything. The City approved it and far worse projects in established neighborhoods, all day, every day for more than a decade.
When a massive in-fill replaced my neighbour's tiny 1940's house, I got pissy about it and moved. I didn't dedicate my life to making my new neighbour's life difficult when he technically didn't do anything wrong.

The neighbours are getting a new fence as well to replace the one that was falling apart and actually leaning on MY property line before demolition. They can't expect a new fence to be completed over winter time.

I had gone over there before demolition to introduce myself. At that time they even indicated they have been thinking about moving out the area to a bigger home.

I had some not-great neighbours at my last house. It sucks. Really glad that at our current place, the neighbours are nice so far. One side baked us cookies and gave us a welcome card when we moved in.

It's a great feeling having great Neighbour's for sure. My old place we'd all watch out for each other's place when we go on vacation and text to make sure all is ok. Hopefully the people beside me just move and sell to someone who tears it down and builds something nice.

Neighbour put up infill beside me as I was buying my place. Fence was falling over but tried to address the damage with builder. Got ignored.
Talked reasonably with the new owner and agreed that I would build it if he paid for the materials. Then disclosed he would short pay the builder for cost of those materials and he did the back and forth with the builder as he actually had some leverage.

This all sounds like they got disheartened before you even owned any of it. They probably think you had more involvement than possible.

Good neighbours really make or break a home. In the summer we had a block party and everyone is normal, it's such a fucking relief.

One of my neighbours are empty nesters and always gone. The only beef we've ever had is when they were trying to be nice and mow my new lawn but cut it too short. If thats our only issue I will say we have a pretty amicble relationship.

On the other side we have mormons that are always screaming at their kids but nice to us.

Across the street we have a nosy old retired broad. Super nice but always wants to chat so you cant go out front unless you have 15 minutes to bullshit about nothing.

I live between empty nesters that spend half the year in Arizona (they are super nice and friendly) and Mormon renters with the trashiest home and sketchy adult kids I’ve seen busking at Superstore. They don’t talk to us and I’m ok with that.
