Jesus. If you're going to ask for advice on reddit, at least go to the proper subreddit like r/landscaping.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

I don’t have a reddit account. But someone needs to post about the big ass bolt

Also asked there, broooooad net (even if it includes the lowbrow move of r/calgary). Regulars will be happy to know my thread got downvoted, likely because I admitted to being of the landowning class.
sig deleted by moderator, because they are useless

"My landlord refuses to fix this but said I could if I wanted to. To hell with him, I want this to look good. What's the best way to replace this post so it looks good and maintains load strength?"

Get some 1/4” steel plate cut into 4 squares to match the post width and pull them together with 1/2” threaded rod and fasteners. It will help until the post rots off at the ground, which it probably did.
I firmly vote for this. This is a particularly elegant fix (not a fix) that perfectly answers your problem and timeline.

If it was me, I would put some sweat equity in and get a shovel and start removing dirt from behind the post. Rip out the post and put in a new one, back fill the dirt. Sell the house and forget about it.

    It's a free workout.
