Default Experience with Amazon Backup Sensors???

One of the rear backup sensors in my Tundra shit the bed and so I'm worried my asian wife will back into a wall now. Dealer wants $216 for one backup sensor

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the aftermarket ones from Amazon at $22 each LOLOL. I know you get what you pay for, but I'm also building a couple of MR2's at the moment and $200 difference is good car parts.

    Thanks!!!

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Speaking from personal experience, spend the $$ on the MR2.

And from personal experience, ordered 3 parking sensors from Amazon for bmw. 1 wasn't the right shape, 1 didn't work at all (Keenso brand).
The one that worked was Dorman. Shit brand too but way cheaper than OEM from dealer.

My advice, order a few and see which one works. Send rest back.

    Thanks dude!!!

Yeah I looked at Rockauto as well btw, sadly they are the same price as the OEM denso ones but plus shipping as well, so even more for aftermarket.

    Yep re: the 2's

I just ordered a Dorman gasket kit off Amazon and all the parts were spot-on fits. I guess only time will tell how they wear, but initial impressions were good.

For $22, unless the sensor is a bitch in labor to replace, sounds like you can get 8 or 9 of them for the price of 1 OEM. Even if you had to replace it each year, you'd still get nearly a decade out of them for the cost of 1 OEM.

I guess the question is back to you which you'd rather do.

yeah the two inner ones aren't too bad to replace - can get to easily underneath. The two outer rear ones are a real cunt to get to though...so that's an issue.

The Amazon ones are all the chinese ones...so i'm a bit worried they won't work but I did see some with vids where they did in fact work? So i order set of 4 for $57 and if they don't work, they go back.

So yeah....just an update for everyone.

I purchased the set in the link below after reading some mixed reviews - some said Chinese junk some said it worked with the most relevant review being a dude with a Tacoma plus vid and pics. Was fairly pessimistic initially till I received the package on Saturday. Obviously cheaper quality than OEM but wasn't as cheap as I would've imagine originally with the only complaint being the outta ring quality. OEM outer ring obviously is abs plastic with flex whereas this one was hard and brittle plastic.

    https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0CDLY8BC1?...roduct_details

Anyway so i swapped out the bad sensor and wtf.....it fucking worked. Like for real fucking worked!!! System error went away and I also test it out backup into my wife etc.. and yeah it picked her plump body up no probs!!! Pleasantly surprised to be honest. Keep and use the OEM outer ring if you can is my advice but sadly, i wrecked mine previously. So the real test is long term....we'll see after.

Thanks to everyone for their help btw!!!

Buying something from Amazon with only 22 reviews takes balls. I usually like to see at least 4 digits.

LOL if it didn't work, its going back was my plan. But yes, even with 4 digit reviews, i do look specifically at the lowest to see what the issues are and relevance. Just like google reviews man - I check to see what the low ratings are due to but also who all is reviewing. Obviously a chinaman telling me said chinese restaurant is good is more accurate than someone non-chinese haha.

It just feels good to save $200+ at least for the short term to buy car parts for the MR2 lol. I'm just wondering how long they'll last....that's my thing. Waiting for the +35c and -35c weather, that will be the real test.

These will fit your truck too if you have rear backup sensors; hit me up if you ever need one.
