Show up in a PT Cruiser. They won't allow you in the building.

Timing is terrible, but to be fair Calgary is one of the few cities that don’t have lawn watering restrictions.

That’s fair but twice a week seems rather on the restrictive side. My grass is much healthier doing 3 times a week even with shorter duration

I don't think we need water restrictions. This isn't Mexico.

Arguably the single best thing to do with the water is put it into the topsoil in Alberta, otherwise its just wasted when it hits the ocean in Hudsons Bay.

Calgary needs more green, and that means *more* water in the soil. Want to save the trees? Water them more.

Tried to get out, wouldn’t reply to my request to be dismissed so I’m ready to adjourn. Or whatever they do.

Not restricted if you do it by holding the hose.

What’s bizarre to me is the city saying you can water your lawn for THREE HOURS

Who the fuck came up with that number

I'm thinking the same group that determined 6ft apart during covid was the magic number?

They say the general rule of thumb is put a frisbee upside down on your lawn and when its full.. your grass is good.

Obviously three hours is some weird arbitrary number to allow a new bylaw, but realistically how long are people people watering their lawns for?

I assumed 3 hours is to give people time to water multiple zones or if they're peasants move sprinklers.

48 hours straight. If it's not a full marsh by the end, I didn't do a good job.

    That.
My buddy's place that uses 80-100 m3/month has 10 zones, each of which gets 20 minutes.

    I feel seen!

That said, I'm not terribly concerned with the watering schedule.
The optimal time to water your lawn is in the evenings anyways before the heat of the day.
This ensures water can actually be absorbed and not evaporate.
So theoretically the quality / efficiency of your watering will be higher on this schedule than if you water 4x per week at 2pm.
