    Default Esim for mexico/usa/caribbean

I'm not knowledgeable with Esims or internation Sim cards in the slightest. We are traveling in November and I'm thinking of getting an Esim for my wife and I. Travel destinations follow this path, Mexico, Florida, Bahamas, Dominican, Turks and Caicos. Would I need an Esim for each location? Also, I read somewhere the phone needs to be unlocked to use an Esim. Is that accurate my phone is on a corprate account through Bell, will that limit what I can do? Thanks in advance for some advice.

Try air alo and see if there is a “Caribbean” package or something. You can choose between country sims and region sims in Europe with them.

Does anyone actually lock phones anymore?

Most phones should be unlocked but check if it supports esims. A friends S20FE doesn’t support esims and was a pain.

Airalo has packages for all that with varying data sizes for whatever you want. US/Mex in one ($17 for 2gb) then they have a carribean island package that covers all the latter. ($21 for 2gb)

Esim was flawless for me and the family in Scotland this summer. Used Orange for voice and MobiMatter for data-only for the fam. Easy peasy.

If you travel to the caribean often, there ARE canada plans that include those countries, or some of them.

I'm sure I said something earlier, but maybe it wasn't clear, but I also probably can't be clearer. Dang.

If your phone doesn't support E-sim, there is this device that's supposed to allow to use an e-sim still, https://esim.me/

I know iPhones and Google Pixel phones support e-sim for sure, rest you would have to verify.

I think my phone will accept an Esim. It has the option to "enable Esim" in connection settings to (s24 ultra) ill look at the airalo as an option.

Airalo Caribbean package has Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.

you'll have to get Mexico and Dominican Republic separately, same with US

they have a Global package that has all except Turks and Caicos.

Ya, was just in looking at this. Might do the global one for convenience.

If you have a S24Ultra then I'm 99% sure i'ts unlocked. I think they stopped locking phones many years ago? (pre-covid). It also support e-sim for sure. I've used it many times on mine (also S24U).

I found that all e-sim services are pretty similar. Air alo is a good one, and I also like Ubigi since it's easy to see in the app how much data you is left rather than having it stopped working all of a sudden and you have to try and figure out why. I'm guessing they all have a caribbean package.

A few weeks ago I used GigSky for the Caribbean because it also cover data on the cruise ship when its at sea. They all work.

Purchased a GigSky cruise and land esim. It's global so will work all the location i stop at and apparently on the cruise ship. Will report back the end of Nov of there were any issues. ...I have a referral code that gets each of us a whopping $3 of any one wants it..... VAND139

The Gigsky cruise one worked but really expensive for what it is. The speed isn't great (LTE) and connectivity is hit or miss I found. It was okay for whatsapp /email, but really quickly ran out of data just by using web browsers. Both my wife and I had to reload at least once during the cruise. At the end it felt really restrictive and only a little bit cheaper than the cruise wifi package.

Going on another cruise in Dec and I think we will just get the cruise wifi package and e-sim for land-only which is like 1/10th the costs.

I bought it more for the Mexico leg of the trip. Relize it's a little more $, but gives me some options for each location if required. Was speed/connectivity a problem not on the ship? @RX_EVOLV
