Need to goto the airport early Wednesday morning with the wife and kids. Never really thought about someone refusing to drive us since we aren't bringing a booster seat....anyone have issues in the past? Or what do you do?

There is an exemption in the TSA for rentals and hire cars to not require boosters in Alberta. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The bigger issue is what are the rules where you are going. Alberta is pretty lax. My solution was to buy a slim booster and bring it with us JIC.

My issue would be worrying about one of those shitty drivers getting in an accident with my kid in the car not in a booster.
Either way, just buy the booster(s) and bring it. Not much downside.
We just take Taxis to airport with our kids since they dont require car seats for kids. No issues.

I'm not worried about it, it's more the guy getting to the house and saying "I'm not doing it" and them scrambling to get to the airport ontime....any luck with Uber? Are they the same as a taxi?
Thanks for the input guys

You could call the taxi company and ask the dispatch if they have any policies?

Good question, do some taxi/Uber here come with booster seat? When we went vacation, we called uber/taxi or rental car with booster seat, (extra cost) should be same here?

If I recall correctly, taxi are considered to be public transport, so legally speaking they can take kids without carseats. Ubers on the other hand, I'm not sure.
Because we have 5 people, we called to book / reserve a taxi with Associated Cab ahead of time. And we confirmed with them that kids are allowed to be in taxi without carseats.
Wow.....wrong section with the thread....no ridicule yet

Why bother wondering.Child restraints are not required (but are still recommended) in:
taxis
emergency vehicles
vehicles rented/leased for 14 days or shorter

As far as I can tell, Mexico has no rules. Calling to set up a cab ride meow... when we leave mexico and head to Fla, dad's grabbing us with a couple boostersThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

We have an easy work around for this, have one kid sit on the other kids lap, that way the shoulder height will be correct for the seat belt, both kids are held securely in position and no need to bring a booster. Follow me on Instagram for more parenting tips.
