You can absolutely live on an acreage and be lazy, it just comes at a cost. Budget $1k/mo for grass/snow removal and an annual cleanup, additional slush fund for things like septic maintenance, you’re good to go.
If you think reno is 200k, it's 600k when you do it.

Haha I wish I was that fancy and liquid bro.
Self confirmed lazy man who would hire out yard work, but wants a place that has a skating rink which is probably one of the more labour intensive projects you could do to set up and maintain. Shak my man, I think the idea of an acreage life is much better than the actual acreage life for you. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

East of Beaumont has some pretty nice places that are definitely close enough for a daycare drop-off. They are definitely rural, but I think ideally located. The area south of Sherwood park where you're looking is fantastic too. Another option close to Beaumont is Royal Oaks to the west. It's more like a subdivision, but with huge lots and beautiful houses. It's close to both south Edmonton and Beaumont daycares.
+1 here. Lots of coworkers while I was up there were on acreages and the water can be very hit and miss. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
