Default Recommended me a shoulder clinic

Long story short i broke my shoulder at the joint when i was a kid, healed funny and years of weight exercising, and abuse at work etc is taking its toll. Doesn't feel like there is much left in the shoulder and feels like it's bone on bone.

I've put it off too long and need to visit somebody to see what my options are. Preferably around Calgary.

    TIA

You'll likely need a referral from a doctor to see a specialist.
Put on a list and you'll be seen in 6 months.

    Sorry to hear.

A start, to get the pain down, is physio. Probably not the end of it, but no waiting list. They can help with diagnosis too. Some of them have requisition abilities for x-ray etc.

My right shoulder has been bugging me the past year
Now I stretch, massage, it all seems to help
I got a requisition for xray so will do that next
Idk if there’s a tear or soft tissue or what or it’s simply repetitive motion disorder
Gf thinks it’s rotator cuff and others have said similar … just takes time to heal and less strain on it
So I started to use my left arm a lot more now for daily stuff, ha ha, here come the jokes lol
It’s a foreign experience I tell ya, all of it, pour water with the left, brush teeth with the left etc.
Anyway I’m monitoring it to see if it’s in my head, if it’s simply growing old or what

crappy dude. I had a shoulder surgery 20 years ago for a SLAP tear and it was one of the most painful things I've ever had done to me. For a reference point, I've also had a lumbar L4/L5 fusion which didn't even compare.

Dr. Lo, cant say enough good things about this man. Well worth the wait if you go public and worth the money if you go private. He did both of my moms shoulders and hopefully I will be seeing him soon to do my left shoulder.

I'm currently trying to find a family doctor again. Once I do I will start with at least an Xray requisition and see where it takes me.

I definitely feel bone on bone movement with some motions. Still good range of motion and still strong so not sure whats actually going on. Rather get at it before it completely goes on me.

    Thanks for the suggestions

What about the "accellerated access" thing at Group23? If this was me, I'd want to cut a few months off the front end of the process.

Rocket doctor might save you the whole finding a family doctor thing. Was useful for me for getting things at least rolling faster. I wouldn’t limit yourself to an X-ray as my shoulder stuff really revolved around MRI and Ultrasound

Go to The Shouldice Clinic in Ontario and then insist that they fix your shoulder using the "eh, come on... Close enough!" argument.

    shoulders just suck man.

I've hurt both, but one much more than the other... started first from lifting and hurting the infra and supraspinatus... then I had a bad crash where I had a separated shoulder (AC joint), torn labrum and basically ruptured the supraspintus.

Had a MRI/A w/ the injection and in the queue for surgery, while I'm trying to rehab.

Been about a year and still no signs on when I'll be in, as I'm not a painter and as such... not urgent enough to get patched yet.

probably the most common injuries if you lift. Scapula retraction while you lift can prevent overloading and unnecessary binding of the supraspinatus and you can roll out your lats to give your infraspinatus more relief.

If it doesn't hurt, just strengthen and stretch those muscles. My supraspinatus used to be a small 3mm tear, which was nothing, but did hurt alot until it healed. After my crash its 10mm and needs a repair.
