computer keyboard help!!

hey guys


not too good at computers, my keyboard key stopped working last nght, cant use the button between U and O, was workng on my paper and key stopped workng

can be ths be fxed? or do i need a new keyboard?

What exactly happens when you hit the button? does it stick or does everything seem normal but no character shows up on screen?

First thing you should try is popping the button off and cleaning the area underneath. By taking the button off you can also interface directly with the switch and see if you can induce a character by pressing directly there.

I don't see a problem with the keyboard itself since the other keys are working. You also know your keyboard ISR is still working properly too since it still buffers the other characters and places them on screen. My guess is something hardware related directly to the key.

A long time ago I remember I played a game and to kick you had to hit one of the keys over and over, eventually the button wouldn't work unless you pressed really hard on it. If this is the case with you it might just be that the sensitivity of the switch is lowered due to excessive use.
